• Select [I nternet Protoc ol ( T CP/IP)] =>Cl ick [Propertie s]. • Select t he [Gen eral] tab. a. WL -354 supports [DHC P] function, pl ease se lect bot h [Obtain a n IP address automati call y] and [Obta in DNS server address automatical ly].
8 Bringin g up t he WL- 354 Connect t he s uppl ie d power-adapter to the po wer in let port and co nnect it to a wal l o utl et. The WL -35 4 automati cal ly enters the self-test phase. Duri ng self-test phase, the Power LED w il l bl in k brief ly , and then wi ll be lit continu ously t o i ndi cate that t his product i s i n n ormal op eration.

LAN s etting s The LAN tab gives you the opportuni ty to change the IP settin gs of t he WL - 354. Click <Ap ply> at the b ottom of th is scr een to save any changes. IP address 192 .1 68.0 .1. It i s t he router ’ s L AN IP addr ess (Y our L AN cl i ents default gateway IP address) .
Lease Time Forever . In the Leas e Tim e settin g you can specif y th e tim e period that the DH CP le nds an IP address to y our LAN cli ents. The DHCP wil l c hange your LAN cli ent’s IP address when t his tim e thresh ol d period is rea ched.
Device Status View the Broa dband modem/router’ s current confi guration settings. D evice Status di splays the conf ig uration setting s you’ve config ured i n the Wizard / Basic Setti ngs / Wire les s Setti ngs secti on.
Internet Status This page disp lays whether the AD SL port is connected to an A DSL service provider . It a lso di spl ays the ro uter’ s WAN IP address, S ubnet Mask, and ISP Gateway as w el l as MAC address, t he Primary DNS. Press Renew butto n to renew your WAN IP address.
ADSL St atus This page s hows the c urrent op eration mode, status of your ADSL c onnect ion, the data rate and the qual it y of your AD SL l i nk. Operation mode allows manual sel ecti on o f th e ADSL mode.
DHCP Client Status DHCP This pa ge shows all D HCP cl ients ( LAN PCs) currently c onnecte d to your network. The table shows the ass i gned IP ad dress, MAC address and expiration time for ea ch DHCP l ease d cl ient. Use the Re fresh button to u pdate the availa ble i nformation.

11 Wirel ess Setting s Y ou ca n set parameters that are us ed for the wirel ess stati ons to con nect to this router . The param eters include Mode, ESSID, Channel Number a nd A ssoc iated Client. Wireles s Fun ction Enable or Disa bl e Wire le ss funct ion here.
Basic Se ttings Band All ows you to set the AP fi xed at 802.1 1b or 802. 11 g mode. Y ou c an also s elect B+G+N mode to all ow 802.11 b, 80 2.11 g and 802. 11n cli ents at the same time . ESSID This is the name of t he wirel ess si gnal which is broadcaste d.
Advanc ed Setti ngs This tab a ll ows you to set the advanced w irele ss opti ons. T he o ptions i ncl uded are Authenticati on T yp e, Fragment Threshol d, RTS Threshold, B eacon Interval, and Preamble T ype. Y ou sho uld not c hange these parame ters unless you know what ef fect t he c hanges w i ll have on the r outer .
Preamble Type The “Long Preamble” can provide better wireless LA N compatib il ity whil e the “Short Pre ambl e” can provide better w irel ess LAN performance. Broadcast ESSID If you e nable d “Broadcast ESSID” , every wi reless station locate d withi n the covera ge of t hi s a ccess poi nt can d isc over this access poi nt eas ily .
Security This Acc ess Point provid es com pl ete w irel ess LA N security f unct ions, i ncl uded are WEP , WPA w ith pre-shared key a nd WPA with RADIU S.
WEP When you se lect 64-b it or 128-bit WEP key , you hav e to e nter WE P keys to encrypt data . Y ou can gener ate the key by yourself and enter it. Y ou can enter f our WEP keys a nd sel ect one of them as a default key . Then the router can receive any packets encrypte d by one of t he f our keys.
Click <A pp ly> at the bottom of the scr een t o save the above conf igurations. Y ou can n ow conf igure other sect ion s b y choos i ng Conti nue, or choos e A pply to apply t he s ettin gs and reb oot the devic e. WPA Pre-sha red Key Wi-Fi Protected Acces s ( WP A) is an advanced se curity standard.

WPS Wi-Fi Protecte d S etup (WPS) is the simp lest way t o establ ish a connecti on between the wi reless cli ents and the wir ele ss router . Y ou don’ t have t o sel ect the encrypti on m ode a nd fi ll i n a l ong encrypti on pa ssphrase e very t ime when you try to s etup a wirel ess co nnecti on.
WPS Current Status If the wi rel ess s ecurity (encryption) f uncti on o f this wirel ess router is properly set, you’ll s ee a ‘Conf igured’ message here. Otherwise, you’ll see ‘U nConfi gure d’ . Self P in Code This is the WPS PIN c ode of t he wi rel ess router .

DMZ If yo u have a cli ent PC that cannot run an Internet a ppli cation (e. g. Gam es) properly f rom behi nd the NA T f ire wall, th en you can open up the firewal l restricti ons to u nrestric ted two-way I nternet access by defini ng a DMZ Host.
Denial of Servi ce (DoS) The Broadband router's firewal l can block common ha cker attacks, i ncl udi ng Denial o f S ervi ce, P i ng of Deat h, P ort S can and Sync F lood.
Access Y ou can restri ct us ers from accessi ng c ertain Intern et ap plicat ions/s ervices (e.g. I nternet w ebsi tes, email , FTP etc.). Access C ontrol al l ows users to def ine the traffi c type permitted in your LAN. Y ou can control whi ch PC cl i ent can have access to these ser vices.

Virtual server Use the Virtual Server functio n when you want different servers/cli ents in your LAN to handle di fferent service/Internet appl icati on type (e. g. Email , FTP , W eb server etc. ) fr om t he Internet. Computers use numbers ca lle d port numbers to reco gnize a partic ular service/I nternet a ppl icat ion type.

Edit a QoS rule Select the rul e you want to e dit and cl ic k “Edit ” , t hen enter the d etail f orm o f th e Q oS rule. Cl ick “ A pply ” after edi tin g t he form and the rule wi l l be saved. Adjust QoS rule p riority Y ou can se lect the rule and click “Move Up” to make it s pri ority hi gher .

Backup Set tings The Back up screen allows you to save (B ackup) th e router’ s current confi guration setti ngs. When you s ave the c onfi guration s etting (B ackup) you can re-l oad t he sav ed configuratio n i nto t he ro uter thro ugh the Restore select ion.

DDNS DDNS allow s you to map the static domain name to a dynami c IP address. Y ou must get an acco unt, password and your static domain name from the DDNS service pr ovide rs. This router supports D ynDNS, TZO and other common DDNS s ervic e provi ders.
