1 Key Features The key f eatures of MD- 272/273 TV Media Player include: • HDMI interfac e for digital aud io and high-defi ni tion video. • Composite interface (RC A, yellow/white/red) for analogue AV connection.

3 Cautions This player’s design and manufacturer ha s your safety in mind. In order to sa fely and effectively use this player, please read the following before usage. 3.1 Usage Caut ions User should not modify this player. I f comm ercial hard disk is bei ng used, the environmental temperature should be within +5 ~ +35 degrees Celsius.
3.7 Other When using this player, please do not let the player c ome into contact with water or other liquid, if water is accidentally spil led on the player, please use a dry cloth to absorb the spillage. Search Go to the Search m enu. Repeat Repeat the playing file. Audio Choose the audio stream while watching video. Subtitle Choose the subtitle stre am while watching video. Resolution Show the currently use d resolution. Info Show information about the playing fi le.
5 Getting Started Before b eginning the ins tallat ion, please read through the installat ion procedure described in this manual. 5.1 Installation Requirements To begin using the TV Media Player, you will need: • A television set (TV) with either a HDMI connect ion or availabl e AV composite cable connections for au dio and video.
• Composite Vide o Plug the suppl ied RCA cable into the A/V port o n the rear panel of the TV M edia Player and the opposite end of the cable into the composite video in connector on your TV. • HDMI Vide o Plug the HDMI cable into the HDM I c onnector on the back panel of the TV Media Player.
Audio Con nection s The TV Media Player su pports digital audio over HDMI or S/PDIF. Altern atively a RCA analogue connection for the st ere o audio signal can be used . • Analog ue A udio ( RCA) Plug the suppl ied RCA cable into the A/V port and the r ed and white connecto rs into the colour-coded Audio connecto rs o f your stereo receiver.
5.2.3 Connect power to the TV Medi a Play er Connect the supplied 12V DC adapter t o a fr ee wall socket. Connect the other end to the designated port on the back of the TV Media Player. 5.2.4 Connect USB t o the T V Media P laye r The TV Media Player automatically searches th e disk for supported media content.
6 Navigating the menu Once the TV M edia Player is connected and th e (USB) hard disk contains digital media files it automati cally begins searching for supported m edia.
Use this setting to select the video display re solution when using the HDMI interface. The default setting is Auto. Note: Full HD quality can be r eceiv ed when the mode is set t o 1080p. Pleas e note that your TV needs t o be capabl e of showing this resolution.
6.3 Home M enu Every time you start the system, y ou will see the Home M enu. At the Home M enu, use the arrow keys ‘ Left’ an d ‘Right’ buttons to select each item, to enter the item please press 'OK' button. Each item is described as below.
In the Photo m enu you can br owse thr ough your photos and view them. 6.3.4 Movies In the Movies m enu you can br owse th rough the videos and watch them. These are all items in th e Home M enu. In the next chapters thes e items will be described in more detail.
6.4 Settings Menu It is recomm ended to u se the S etup menu before first using the system. In the Hom e Menu, us e the ‘L eft’ and ‘Right’ buttons to s elect ‘Settings’ and press th e ‘OK’ button to ente r the menu. 6.4.1 System Settings -> System 6.
Press the ‘OK’ button to enter the multi- langua ge list and use the arrow ke y ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to s elect the language. Pr ess the ‘OK’ button to confirm.
You can choos e the differ ent encoding types; Unicode (UTF8), Simplified Ch inese (GBK), Traditional Chines e (BIG5), Tu rkish, etc. P res s the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ butt ons to s elect the item and press the ‘ OK’ button to c onfirm. 6.4.1.3 DLNA DMR Settings -> System -> DLNA D MR Turn on or o ff the DL NA DMR function.
Set the scan mode of the st orage d etection. Auto scan on - syst em will scan the storage au tomatically. Auto scan off - s ystem wil l not scan the storage. Rescan storage – manually scan the storag e. Stop scanning storage – do not scan th e storage.
6.4.2.1 Nig ht Mode Settings -> Audio -> Night Mode This setting is to switch the “Night Mode”. With this setting you can limi t the maximum volume output.
This setting is to switch the audio output over the HDM I connection. Yo u can choose between: LCPM – Linear pulse cod e modulation two channel LCPM Multi-Channel - Linear pulse code m odulation Mult i-Channel 5.1, 7.1 RAW – Audio Raw data. Use the ‘Up’ and ‘D own’ buttons to select an item and press the ‘OK’ button to confirm.

6.4.3.2 TV Sy stem Settings -> Video -> TV System Use this setting to choose th e re solution and TV system. You can choo se b etween: NTSC - National Television System Committee PAL - Phase Alternating Line 480P 576P 720P 50Hz 720P 60Hz 1080i 50Hz 1080i 60Hz 1080P 50Hz – Full HD 1080P 60Hz – Full HD 6.
Use this function to set the video z oom in/out function. 6.4.3.4 Digit al N oise Reduction Settings -> Video -> Digital Noise Reduction Use this function to enable or disable the digital noise reduction.
If the TV suppo rts 1080P 24HZ , you can turn o n this option. 6.4.4 Network Settings -> Network 6.4.4.1 Wired LAN Setup Settings -> Network -> Wired LAN Setup Set “DHCP IP” o r “Fixed I P” for the Ethernet LAN IP configuration of this player.
Various miscellaneous settings. Version Info - S elect this setting to display the current hardwar e and firmware configuration. Firmware upgrade – U se this setting to update the new firmware if ther e is any. Important: Make sure the TV M edia Playe r’s AC pow er adapte r remains conne cted during the firmware upd ate.
6.5 Music Me nu In the Music menu you can brows e through your music files and play them. 6.5.1 Playing Audio Music -> press ‘ OK’ or ‘Play’ button If you want to play the selected music file, pres s the ‘OK’ button or the ‘Play’ button to start playback.
You can press the ‘Option’ button to select the ‘Repeat Mode’ during playback: Repeat Off Repeat One Repeat All Shuffle Loop 6.
Pressing the ‘Option’ button in the Music brows er will pop up the Option window which can switch the browsing file mode. You have th e following opti ons: Thumbnail List Preview Use the arr ow ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to select and press th e ‘OK’ button to co nfirm.
Music -> Press ‘ Option’ button -> List The Music file browser d isplay files as a ‘List’. 6.5.2.4 Previ ew Music -> Press ‘ Option’ button -> Pr eview Use this option to preview the file information. When you f ocus on a file, it wil l show the information in the preview window on the left.
Music -> Press ‘ Option’ button -> Sort ed by -> Alphabet The files are so rted by Alphabet 6.5.2.9 Sort b y Gen re Music -> Press ‘ Option’ button -> Sort ed by -> Genre The files are classified by Genr e.
6.6 Photos M enu In the Photos m enu you can br owse th rough your photo s and view them. 6.6.1 Display & Slide Show Photos -> pre ss ‘OK’ or ‘Play’ button If you want to display the s elected image file or us e the slide show in full screen, press the ‘ OK’ button or ‘Play’ button to start the operation.
During playback, you can press th e ‘Option’ button to change the slide show settings. You can use the f ollowing settings: Repeat off – T o Stop Slide Show. Repeat all – To show all files in the play list. Shuffle Loop - Randomly select file in the play li st during Sl ide Show 6.
Change Layout Add to slideshow Use the arr ow ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons to select and press ‘OK’ button to confirm. 6.6.2.1 Slid eshow set tings Photos -> Pr ess ‘ Option button -> Slideshow settings Here y ou can set th e slide transition time from 2 to 30 seconds.
File Thumbnai l – Al l the photos have their thumbnail made from themselves. 6.6.2.6 List Photos -> Pr ess ‘ Option’ button -> Change layout -> List Photos file browse r display files by ‘List’.
6.7 Movies In the Movies m enu you can br owse th rough your videos and watch them. 6.7.1 Video Player Movies -> pres s ‘OK’ or ‘Play’ button If you want to play the selected video file in ful l screen, press ‘ OK’ button or ‘ Play’ button to start the ope ration.
During playback, you can also press the ‘Option’ button to change playback settings. 6.7.1.1 DVD M enu Movies -> Playback -> press ‘Option’ button -> DVD M enu When playing a DVD, this wil l return you to the DVD main menu.
To set the national language subtitles, you have the following options: Show subtitle Position of subtitles: 0 ~ 640 Font size : 3 ~ 40 Synchronous tuning National language Subtitle c olour Use the arr ow key s ‘L eft’ and ‘Right’ to select th e item, ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ to adjust the value.
Use the ‘Up’ and ‘D own’ buttons to select the a udio mode and ‘OK’ button to confirm. Press ‘R eturn’ to r esume playback. 6.7.1.4 Go to Movies -> Playback -> press ‘Option’ button -> G o to With this funct ion you can time shift to the location you want.

6.8 Online Select the Online option in the main menu to view the various internet functions of the TV Media Player 6.8.1 YouTube XL Enter YouTube-XL and you can see the video list in the right p anel. Now you can just press the direction k ey to highlight a video to play, but we suggest to setup language and your location first.
Click a video to play. You can use the playback controls on the remot e contr ol to control the playback. If a USB mou se is plugged in, move the cursor on the video and the on-screen m enu will pop up for you to contro l it. Available options: Search ba r : select it to input a keyword to search the video.
You can plug in your USB mouse and USB keyb oard fo r control and input. To input a text or URL, you need to select the text field, use the rem ote control to press “OK” to open the virtual keyboard, and then input the text on the USB keyboa rd. 6.
Select the categor y to b rowse and play. Press t he return k ey to go bac k to the previous page. Pr ess th e stop k ey to stop th e audio playback. Option Favorites Browse the fav orite list and select one to play. I n audio playback, select “Delete fr om Favorites” to delete it.
Select “Add Favorite” and brow se to a country a nd select a city. Press t he info key to open the menu, and ad d it to the favourite. Y ou can now a ccess it fro m the frontpage. Press “OK” key t o select a city and see the w eather forecast.
