10 About Media T ypes The following CD-RW/R discs cannot be played. Discs on which data has not been recor ded cannot be played back. Discs recor ded in a format other than an Audio CD and JPEG/MP3 file format cannot be played back. Discs may not be played back depending on their recor ding status or the status of the disc itself.
11 Introduction DTS DTS is a digital sound system developed by DTS, Inc. for use in cinemas. Linear PCM Linear PCM is a signal recor ding format used for Audio CDs and on some DVD and Blu-ray discs. The sound on Audio CDs is recor ded at 44.1 kHz with 16 bits.
12 Important Information Disc Precautions Be Careful of Scratches and Dust BD, DVD and CD discs are sensitive to dust, fingerprints and especially scratches. A scratched disc may not be able to be played back. Handle discs with care and stor e them in a safe place.

18 Positioning the Speaker System Placing the Speaker System T o ensure optimal sound, it is recommended that you set up the speaker system as shown below .

32 Br oadband Inter net Connection Connecting to the ETHERNET terminal By connecting this system to the Internet, you can enjoy a variety of content on your TV using BD-LIVE functions, the RSS reader function and Netflix. This system can update the software fr om Sharp’ s server using the Internet.
33 Connection and Setup Antenna Connection Connecting to the FM ANT Jack Y ou can connect an FM antenna to the system to receive FM br oadcast. If you switch your TV (i.e. because you have bought a new one) and the screen aspect ratio of the connected TV changes, you will have to change the “TV Aspect Ratio” setting.
69 Settings SETTINGS Smart Settings Quick Start This turns the Quick Start function on and off. When the Quick Start function is on: The startup time of the system is reduced. However , power consumption will increase. When the Quick Start function is off: The system will enter the low power consumption mode when in standby condition.
