5 All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and retain them for later use. Unplug this projector from A C pow er supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 Openings in the cabinet are provided f or v entilation. T o ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from ov erheating, these openings must not be bloc ked or cov ered. CA UTION Hot air is exhausted from the e xhaust v ent. When using or installing the projector , the follo wing precautions should be taken.
7 Saf ety Instr uctions Use the projector properly in specified positions. Improper positioning may reduce the lamp lif e and result in sev ere accident or fire hazard. This projector can project the pict ure in upward, down w ard, or inclined position in perpendicular direction to the horizontal plane.
8 Mo ving the Pr oject or CA UTION IN CARR YING OR TRANSPORTING THE PROJECT OR – Do not drop or bump the projector , other wise damages or malfunctions may result. – When carr ying the projector , use a suitable carr ying case. – Do not transport the projector by courier or an y other transport ser vice in an unsuitable transport case.

23 T ur ning On the Pr ojector Connect the projector’ s A C pow er cord into an A C outlet and t urn on the MAIN ON/OFF Switc h. The LAMP indicator lights red and the READ Y indicator lights green. Press the ON/S T AND-B Y but ton on the side control or on the remote control.

29 Oper ating with Remot e Contr ol Using the remote control for some frequently used operations is advisable. J ust pressing one of the but tons enables you to mak e the desired operation quic kly without calling up the On-Screen Menu. Press the FREEZE but ton on the remote control to freeze the pict ure on the screen.
30 KEY ST ONE but t on Reduce the upper width with P oint e button. Reduce the low er width with P oint d button. Reduce the lef t part with P oint 7 button. Reduce the right part with P oint 8 button. • The white arro ws indicate that there is no correction.

34 Comput er S yst em Selection This projector automatically t unes to various types of computers based on V G A, S V GA, XG A, SXGA, SXG A+, WXGA, or UXG A (ref er to “Compatible Computer Specifications” on pages 75-7 6).
35 A ut o PC A djustment A uto PC Adjustment function is provided to automatically adjust Fine sync, T otal dots, Horizontal and V ertical positions to conform to y our computer . Press the MENU but ton to displa y the On-Screen Menu. Use the P oint 7 8 but tons to move the red frame pointer to the PC A djust Menu icon.
36 Manual PC A djustment Some computers employ special signal f ormats whic h may not be t uned b y Multi-Scan sy stem of this projector . Manual PC Adjustment enables y ou to precisely adjust se veral parameters to matc h those special signal formats.
37 Exit the PC A djust Menu. T o store the adjusted dat a, select Store and then press the SELECT but ton. Move the red arro w pointer to one of the Mode 1 to 1 0 in whic h you want to store, and then press the SELECT but ton. T o reset the adjusted dat a, select R eset and press the SELECT but ton.

40 Select Digital zoom +. The On-Screen Menu disappears and “D . zoom +” appears. Press the SELECT but ton to expand the image size. Use the P oint ed7 8 but tons to pan the image. The P anning function can work only when the image is larger than the screen size.

55 Set ting Shutt er Shut ter function is available to bloc k out light to the screen, so that the screen can be used for the other presenters. Prohibits the shut ter operation from the remote control and the projector's side control. Remote control Selecting "On" prohibits the shut ter operation from the remote control.

57 Maint enance and Car e Filt er Instr uctions Filter prev ents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector . Should the filter becomes clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans ’ ef f ectiveness and may result in internal heat buildup and adversely af f ect the lif e of the projector .

60 Lamp Manag ement This P rojector is equipped with 2 P rojection Lamps to ensure brighter image and those lamps are controlled b y the Lamp Management F unction. The Lamp Management F unction detects the status of lamps and sho ws the status on screen or on the LAMP 1/2 REPLA CE indicators.
