22 Enter text Pinyin, PTI, Stroke, Quick English, English, Number, and Symbolic mode Y ou can enter text for some features such as messaging, Phonebook, or Calendar , using Pinyin, PTI,and Stroke modes for Chinese, and Quick English and English modes for English.

28 Answering a call When you receive an incoming call, the phone rings and displays the incoming call image. Press < Accept > or [ ] to answer th e call. Tips for answering a call • When Anykey answer in the Extra settings menu is active, you can press any k ey , except for < Reject > or [ ].
Call functions 29 Placing a call on hold/Retrieving Press < Hold > or < Retrieve > to place a call on hold or retrieve the ca ll. Making a second call Y ou can make another call if your network supports it. 1. Press < Hold > to put the call on hold.
30 Call functions Using the menu options Y ou can access Menu mode and use menu funct ions. Press < Options > and select Menu . Switching off the microphone (Mute m ode) Y ou can temporarily switch off your phone’s microphone so that the person on the ph one cannot hear you.
Call functions 31 Using SIM services The SIM service menu is av ail able if you use a SIM card in your phone. A SIM ca rd provides servi ces such as news, weathe r , sports, entertainme nt, and location services. For details, see your SIM card instructions or contact your service provider .

33 Delete all (Menu 1.5) Use this menu to delete all of the records in each cal l type. 1. Press [ ] to check the call type(s ) to be cleared. 2. Press < Delete >. 3. Press < Yes > to confirm the deletion. Call time (Menu 1.6) This menu displays the time log for calls made and received.
34 Menu functions Phonebook (Menu 2) Y ou can store phone numbers on your SIM card an d in your phone’ s memory . The SIM card and phone’s memory are physically separ ate, but they are used as a single entity called Phonebook. T o access this m enu, press < Menu > in Idle mode and select Phonebook .
Menu functions Phonebook (Menu 2) 35 Add new contact (Menu 2. 2) Use this menu to add a new contact to Phonebook. Storing a number in the phone’s memory 1. Selec t Phone . 2. Change the settings or en ter informa tion about the contact by pressing [Down].

38 Menu functions Service number (Menu 2.8) This menu is available if your SIM card supports Service Dialling Numbers (SDN). Use this menu to view the li st of SDNs a ssigned by your service provider , including emergency numbers, directory enquiries, and voice mail numbers.

Checking memory status Y ou can view the amount of total memory for the Java games as well as the amount of available and used memory .

91 “Enter PU K” • The PI N code h as bee n entered in correctly three times in succession, and the phone is now blocked. Enter th e PUK supplied by your serv ice provider . “No Service,” “Ne twork Failure,” or “Not Done” displays • The network connection has been lost.
92 Health and safety • T ry moving the phone slightly or moving closer to a window if you are in a building. No number is dialled when you re-call a Phonebook entry • Use the Contacts list feature to ensure t he number has been stored co rrectly .
