7 G et started First st eps to operati ng your phone SIM card information When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscripti on details, such as y our PIN, and available optional services.
8 Get started Low battery indicator When the battery is low : • a warning tone sounds, • the battery low message displays, and • the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery lev el becomes too lo w , the phone automatically turns off . Recharge your batt ery .

28 Call functions Using the headset Use the headset to m ake or answer calls without holding the pho ne. Connect the he adset to the j ack on the right side of the phone. The button on the headset works as listed below: Options during a call Y ou can access a number of functions during a call.

32 Menu functions Call costs (Menu 1.7) This network feature displays the cost of calls. This menu is available only if your SIM card supports this feature. N ote that this is not inte nded to be use d for billing purposes. • Last call cost : check the cost of your last call.

34 Menu functions • Graphic I D : assign an image or a vi deo clip as a caller ID ima ge to alert you to a call from the person. • Alert : assign a unique ringtone to alert you to a call from the person. • Group : assign the number to a caller group.
Me n u f un c t i o n s Phonebook (Menu 2) 35 Speed dial (Menu 2.5) Use this menu to assign spee d dial numbers (2 to 9) for eight of your most frequently called numbers. Assigning speed dial entries 1. Select a key location from 2 to 9 . K ey 1 is reserv ed for yo ur voi ce mai l ser ver .
36 Menu functions • Print via Bluetooth : print the name card information by connecting the phone to a printer via Bluetooth. Own number (Menu 2.7) Use this feature to check your phone numbers, or to assign a name to each of the num bers. Changes made here do not a ffe ct the actual subscribe r numbers on your SIM card.

48 Menu functions Messages (Menu 5) Use the Messages menu to send and receive short messages, multim edia messages, and e-m ails. Y ou can also use push message, V oice mail, and Cell broadcast message features. T o access this menu, press < Menu > in Idle mode and select Messages .

While viewing a mess age, press < Options > to access the following options: • Open file : open the attached file. • Save file : save the attache d file in your ph one’ s memory .

56 Menu functions Character support : select a char acter encoding type. If you select Auto , the phone switches the encoding type from GSM-alphabet to Unicode if you enter an unicode character . Use of Unicode encoding will reduce the maximum number of characters in a message to about half .

58 Menu functions - Version : select an available OMA version and maximum size limit for sending or receiving messages. • Block number : set the Blocked number list to reject MMS me ssages from specif ic phone numbers. Email (Menu 5.5.3) Y ou can configure e-mails settings.

68 Menu functions • Start date and Start time : enter the starting date and time for the event . • AM/PM : select AM or PM in 12-hour time format. • End date and End time : enter the ending date and time for th e event. • AM/PM : select AM or PM in 12-hour time format.

72 Menu functions - Metering exposure : select a method to determine the exposure of an image, base d on a specific area of the image. - White balance : adjust the colour balance of the photo. Y ou can make your photo appear warmer or cooler . - ISO : change t he ISO sett ing, which controls the sensitivity of your camera.

76 Menu functions • Rename : change th e name o f the file. • Go to videos : access to the Videos folder . • Share for Blue tooth : share the file with other Bluetooth devices or hide the f ile so that other Bluetooth devices cannot access it. • Protection : protect the file from being deleted.

86 Menu functions Phone lock (Menu 9.7.3) The Phone lock feature locks the phone from unauthorised use. When this feature is enabled, you must enter a 4- to 8-digit phone password each time the phone is switched on. The password is preset to 00000000 .
87 Reset settings (Menu 9.9) Use this menu to reset the phone settings, display settings, and sound settings individually . 1. Press [ ] to check the setting categories to be reset. 2. Press < Reset > to reset the ma rked items and then < Yes >.
88 Solve prob lems “Enter PUK” • The PI N code h as bee n entered incorrectly three times in succession, and the phone is now blocked. Enter th e PUK sup plied by y our serv ice prov ider . “No Service,” “Ne twork Failure,” or “ Not Done” displays • The network connection has been lost.
89 • T ry moving the phone slightly or moving closer t o a window if you are in a building. No number is dialled when yo u re-call a Contacts entry • Use the Co ntact Search feature to ensur e the number has been stored correctly . • Re-store the number , if necessary .
90 H ealth and safety informat ion SAR tests are conduct ed using standard operating positions with the phone tr ansmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certifi ed power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well below the maxim um value.
