Your phone 12 When held dow n in id le mode, q uickly accesses your v oice mail server . Enter numbers, letters and some special charac ters. Used for v arious purposes in diffe rent functions. When held down while entering a phone number , the key enters a pause.
Your phone 14 Icons Icon Description Shows the received signal strength. T he more bars, the stronger the signal. Appears when a call is in progress. When your SIM card supports ALS (Alternat e Line Ser v ic e ) , this icon ma y ap pear with the num ber 1, 2, or both .
Your phone 16 Backlight A backlight illuminates the display and the k eypad. When you press any k ey , the backlight turns on and remains on for a given period of time, depending on the Backlight option settings. The display turns off after one minute to conserve your battery power .

Call functions 26 Ending a call When you want to finish your call, briefly press the key . Redialling the last number The phone stores numbers you have dialed, received, or missed, if the caller is identified. See “Call records” on page 105 for further details.

70 Phonebook Y ou can store phone num bers and their corresponding names in the memory of your SIM card and phone’ s mem ories. They are physically separate but are used as a single entity , called Phonebook.

In addi tion, your phone supports the Enh ance d Mes sag in g Serv ice (E MS ), which enables you to m ake message s that include simple pictures, m elodies, and animation.

Call records 106 Received calls (Menu 3.2) This menu lets you view the numbers of the calls you received. The number and name, if available, di splay together with the date and time when the call was received. By pressing the Options soft key , you can: • edit the number , if av ailable, and dial it or sa ve it in Phonebook.
Call records 108 Total received : total length of all calls received since the timer wa s last reset. Reset timers : option use d to r eset the c all time rs. Y ou must first enter the phone password (see page 158) and then press the OK soft key . Call cost (Menu 3.
Sound settings 110 Alert type (Menu 4.3) This menu allows you to specify how you are to be informed of incoming calls. The following opti ons are available: Melody : the phone plays the ring melody selected in the Ring tone menu ( Menu 4.1 ); see page 109.
Sound settings 112 MMS tone (Menu 4.5.3) This menu allows you to select how the phone informs you that a new multimedia message has been received. The following opti ons are available: Off : the phone neither rings nor vibrates. Vibration : the phone vibrates.
114 Phone settings Many different features of your phone can be customised to suit your preferences. All of these features are accessed in the Phone settings menu. Display settings (Menu 5.1) In this menu, you can change various settings for the display or backlight.
Phone settin gs 116 Graphic logo (Menu 5.1.6) This menu allows you to display your service provider’s logo instead of i ts name. Off : the service provider’ s name displays in idle mode. On : the service provider’ s logo stored in your ph one displa ys in idle mo de ; if no logo has b e e n st or e d , the service provider’s name displays.
Phone settin gs 118 The following opti ons are available: Disable : the phone connects d irectly to the network w hen you switch it on. Enable : you must enter the PIN each time the phone is switched on. Change PIN (Menu 5.5.2) This feature allows you to change your current PIN to a new one, provided that the PIN che ck feature is enabled.
Phone settin gs 120 SIM lock (Menu 5.5.6) When the SIM lock feature is enabled, y o ur phone only works with the current SIM . Y ou must enter the SIM lock code. Once you ha ve entered the lock code, yo u are asked to confirm it by entering it again. T o unlock the SI M, you must enter the SIM lock code.

Network services 136 Call barring (Menu 7.2) The call barring network service allows you to restrict your calls. Call barring can be set up in the following ways: All outgoing : calls cannot be made. Internationa l : international calls cannot be made.

Access codes 160 PIN2 The PIN2 (4 to 8 digits), supplied with some SIM cards, is required to access sp ecific functions, such as setting the maximum cost of a call.
