Getting Started 8 Activating Y our Phone Installing t he Batter y 1. With the cover removed, verify th e SIM card is securely inserted. 2. Install the battery by aligni ng its 3 brass tabs to those located at the bottom of the batter y compartment (1).
9 2. Gently push the microSD card into th e slot until you hear a click sound. Make sure the microSD’ s gold contact pins face downward. Note: The click indicates tha t the card is sec ured in the slot. Note: The previous diagram disp lays the inco rrect method for insertin g the Memory Card.
Getting Started 10 Activating Y our Phone 3. T o remove the memory card, push the ca rd further into th e slot and t hen release. The card ejects itself from the slot. Y ou hear the click sound when the card rele ases. Charging a Batte r y Y our phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion batte ry.

23 V oice Dialing a Call Y our phone includes Voi c e c o m m a nd s a d vanced speech recognition software that can be used to activate a wide-variety of functions on your phone. Y ou can use Voice commands to make calls by speaking the name of a contact in your Phonebook.
Call Functions 24 Adjusting the Call Volume Once you have store d a number in the Phonebook, you can dial it by pressing a few keys. Y ou can also assign your most frequentl y-used numbers to numb er keys using the Speed Dial fea ture. For further details about the Phonebook feature, see "Understanding Y our Phonebook" on page 50.

Entering T ext 46 Using ABC Mode Example: Writing a text message. 1. T o change the text input mode, press the Right soft key . 2. Each time you press the Right soft key , a differ ent T ext input mode indicator displays in the lower right corner of your disp lay .

This text input mode is based on a bu ilt-in dictionary. T o enter a word in T9 mode: 1. When you are in T9 mode, start en tering a word by pressing the 2 to 9 keys.

71 Viewing a Push Me ssage in Inbo x A Push message is a way of delivering co nten t (e.g. images, ring tones, etc.) to mobile phones that are WAP enabled. With a Push message you don't actually send the content in the text me ssage, you direct the mobile phone where to get it from.

Messages 76 Memory Status • Expiry date : The expiration da te is how long the messa ge receiver has to retrieve the message. • Delivery time : you can set a delay ti me before the phone sends your messages. Retrieving options • Anonymous reject : you can set your phone t o automatically rejec t anonymous messages.
