Getting Started 2 Section 1: Getting Star ted Introduction Congratulations on the purchas e of your Ve rizon Wireless Network Extender . Y our purchase of this base station enhances the wireless telephone service tha t you and your family will receive whil e in your home or home off ice.
3 System Requirements • An always-on broadband Internet connection with a minimum speed of 300 kbps. • An available Ethernet port on either your broadband mo dem or a router connected to the modem. Note: If you are connecting your Verizon Wireless Network Extender to a router , please ensure it supports Virtual Priva te Networking (VPN).
Getting Started 4 6. Plug the power supply connector into the DC 12V power port located a t the rear of the base station (3 ). 7. Insert one end of the power cord into the power supply and then plug the other end into an available power outlet (4). Warn ing!: Insert the plug into the power outlet last.
5 8. Confirm that the front LEDs are illuminated as indica ted below: • Power LE D : should be a continuous blue ligh t, indicating that the ba se station is receiving powe r . No illum ination indicates there is an issue with the power supply or pow er connector .

7 – If a handoff to the nearest compatible cell tower is not possible and all channels are not in use, one channel may be available for an unauthorized user to access. Callers on the managed access lis t are always given priority ac cess to the Network Extender .

Using Y our Device 10 Components - R ear V iew The rear of t he base station provides access to th e WAN port, power port, and external GPS antenna. 1. GPS Antenna Port slides to provide access to the e xternal GPS antenna for removal and re location.
11 4. WAN Po r t allows you to connect the Ethernet cable provided to establish comm unication between the base station and your broadband ro uter . This connection port is then used to transmit voice.

13 Section 3: Exter nal GPS Antenna If your Verizon Wireless Netw ork Exte nder cannot receive a Global Positioning System (GPS) si gnal, it may be necessary to improve the re ception by insta l ling and then positioning the external GPS antenna. This section outlines the inst allation and relocation of this GP S antenna.

Use a blunt tool (such as a co in) to carefully pry the GPS antenna away from the base station, in the same dire ction as shown in step 4.
15 10. Power on the base station to al low the detection of both the external an tenna connection and an a vailable GPS signal. Note: If a GPS signal cannot be detected, remove the GPS antenna and place it in a new location to receive a stronger signal.
