Getting Started 18 Switching On or Off the Phone 1. Press and hold for more than one second to switch on the phone. The power-on image displays and an al ert sounds. When the your phone locates services, it displays the current ti me and date. Y ou can now place and receiv e calls.
Getting Started 20 Your Phone’s Modes Standby Mode Standby is the most basic state of your phone. The phone goes into Standb y mode soon after you turn it on, or whenever you briefly press . When your phone is in Standby mode, you will typically see a wallpaper or banner message and the current date and time .

46 Phone Book The Phone Book allows yo u to store frequently- used phone numbers and the associated names in your personal directory to make it easy for you to make a call with out remembe ring or entering the phone number . Y ou can store up to 2000 entries.
Phone Book 48 By Group This option allows you to find an entry by selecting its caller group. 1. Press to highlight the group selection field. 2. Select the group contai ning the entry you want to find by pressing or . The phone displays the list of all entries in the selected group.
Phone Book 50 • E-mail : allows you to store an e-mail address. • URL : allows you to store a URL address. • Group : allows you to a ssign an entry to a caller gr oup. Phone Book 52 T o change the name of a caller group: 1. Press or to scroll to the group you want to edit. 2. Press the Rename soft key . 3. Press to clear the current group name. 4. Enter a new name and press the Save soft key . Note : The ringer and the name of No Group cannot be editted.

When the memory is f ull, a warning message disp lays and the phone rejects additional messages until yo u erase the obsolete ones. If a new message is received when the memory is full, the phone will display the blinking message icon.
Messages 60 Templates (Menu 2-5) Using this menu, you can preset up to eleven(including Empty m essage that you can make) messages that you use most frequentl y and send a new message using one of them. When you access this m enu, the preset message list displays.
Messages 62 Msg Reminder (Menu 2-7-2) When a message is receive d, the phone alerts you by sounding the selected ringer . Y ou can set how often yo u want to be alerted. Off : the message alert sounds once when the message is received . Once : the message alert sound s once when the message is received and sounds again after 2 minutes.
Messages 64 Reset : clears the New Messag e icon and resets the counter for a new vo ice message, if necessary . The phone resets the counter automatically after you listen to all of the new m essages. Note : Y ou can qui ckly access the voice mail centre when hold down in Standby mode.
Messages 66 Settings (Menu 2-0-3) This menu allows you to set the following op tions for emergency messages: Priority : selects a priority level. Delivery Ack : allows you to receive a report to let you know that your message has been correctly del ivered.
Call History 68 Save : (shows when the number is not st ored in your Phone Book) allows you to sav e the number in Phone Book. Show Entry: (shows when the number is stored in yo ur Phone Boo k) displays the detailed information stor ed in the Phone Book entry , such as a name, entry number , phone numbers, speed dial number , and ot her settings.
Call History 70 The following opti ons are available: Last Call : shows information about the last outgoing call, su ch as the dur ation of the ca ll, the other person’s phone number and the date and time when the call wa s made.
Sound 72 Ringer Vo lume (Menu 4-2) This menu allows you to adjust the ringer volume. Calls : allows you to adjust the ringer volume for incoming calls. Messages : allows you to adjust the r inger volume for incoming messages. Alarm/Schedules : allows you to adjust the ringer v olume for alarm settings and schedu le alarms.
Sound 74 Tone Length : you can select Long or Short DTMF (Dual-tone Multi-frequency) tones. DTMF tones are sent by your p hone to access teleservices, such as a bank account. The system used by the bank or o ther service det ermines if you need short or long DTMF tones.
75 Display The Display feature enables you to customize various settings for the display and the light. Language (Menu 5-1) This menu allows you to change the display and input language. Y ou can choose a language either English or . Service Area (Menu 5-2) This menu displays the current service area the user is in.
Display 76 Banner (Menu 5-4) This option allows you to set a banner message to display at the bottom of the display in Standby mode. However , the banner massage could be displayed, wh en the W allpaper is setted on Digital Clock1. 1. If necessary , press repeatedly to delete each letter of the old greeting.

Organiser 80 Erase Passed : allows you to erase t he passed events. Erase All : allows you to er ase all of the events. • T o view details, press the Navigatio n keys to scroll to an event and press the View soft key . The eve nt displays along with it s start time and date.
Organiser 82 Viewing Your Schedule Select a day with sche duled events on the calendar , refer ring to “Scrolling Through the Calendar” on page 80 an d press the View soft key . T o view details, press the Navigation keys to scroll to an event and press the View soft key .

Settings 94 Key Guard (Menu 7-2-2) Y ou can prevent accidental key pressing by using Ke y G u a r d m o de . T o activate the K ey Guard f eature, select the period of time your phone waits for before locking the keypad. If you do not want to use the feature, set this menu to Off .

Reset Phone (Menu 7-3-6) Re setting the phone cancels all of your selection in the user-selectable setting options and returns them to t he factory default set tings.
Games 100 Settings (Menu 8-4) This menu allows you to change the volume for the game so und and tu rn on or off th e backlight during a game. Volume (Menu 8-4-1) This menu allows you to adjust the volume of the game sound. Backlight (Menu 8-4-2) Playing a game consumes the ba ttery power more than using other functions of your phone.
