5 Using A Non-Su ppor ted B atter y Samsung handsets do not accep t the use of a non-supported battery . When using a non-supported battery , you will hear a series of beeps and you will see a warn ing message that indicates: “ NON-SUPPOR TED BA TTERY .

Getting Started 12 Wall Charger The wall charger i s a convenien t, light-weight charger tha t rapidly charges your Rogue™ from any 120/ 220 V AC outlet. 1. The Annunciator Li ne , which is the top line of your phone’ s display , shows icons that indi cate network status, battery power , signal strength, co nnection type and more. 2. The Widget Bar Ta b displays the Widget Bar when touched.
21 D signal strength : Appears when your phone is receiving digital data. A ppears when your phone is on and indicates the curren t signal strength. More bars indicat e a stronger signal. SSL : Indicates the secure socke t layer is actively transmitting your communication s over the internet in an encrypte d format.

41 R ecent Calls Dialed, misse d, and received call s are save d in Recent Calls, including a set of timers for th ese calls. These ca tegories are listed below . • Missed : Displays any missed calls . • Received : Displays a ny received calls that were an swered.

Call Functions 44 Roa m i ng Wha t is R oam ing? Y our Rogue ™ can roam on other comp atible digital networks. Roaming occ urs when you travel outside a pre -designated coverage area. The ro aming icon displays wh en roaming is active. Extra charges may apply when making or receivi ng calls.
45 V oice Commands Voice Commands is advanced speech recognition software that can be used t o activa te a wide variety of functions on your Rogue ™ . V oice C ommands software automa ticall y voice activates all conta cts for vo ice dialing and searching, no pre- recording or training ne eded.
Call Functions 46 2. After a brief pause, a list of optional commands appears in the display and the audio pr ompt "Please say a command " plays through the speakerphone. Say “Call” at a distance of 3-12 inches from the phone in a natural voice.

71 Using T9 W or d T9 Word is a predictive text input mode that allows you to key in any character using single keystro kes. This text input mode is based on a built -in dictionary . 1. T ouch the T ext Input Mode button at the bottom of the screen and touch and select .

73 Section 7: Messaging This section explains how to send or receive different ty pes of messag es. It also includes the feat ures and functional ity associated with messaging. Typ es of Messa ges Y our phone is capable of sending Em ail, text, picture, video, and voice messages.
Messaging 74 • Auto Erase Inbox : Erases the old est message of the same typ e (T ext or Pict ure) when the ma ximum numb er of rec eived messa ges of that type is exce eded in the Inbox. For exa mple, When th e Inb ox exceeds 100 t ext message s, the fi rst messa ge in the list is repl aced with th e next inc om ing m essage .

Messaging 76 Creating and Sending Picture Messa ges Note: Only avail able within Verizon Wireless Enhanced Ser vices Area. Picture Messages combines text, pi cture, and sound. This is also known as Multimedia Messaging (MMS). Note: Sliding the QWERTY keyboard open immediately after taking a picture opens a New Picture Message screen.
