Extended functions 40 Using the Smart Auto mode In Smar t Auto mode , your camera automatically chooses the appr opr iate camera settings based on the type of scene it detects. The Smart Auto mode is helpful if you are not familiar with the camera settings for various scenes .

Shooting options 56 Selec ting a resolution As you increase the r esolution, your photo or video will include more pixels, so it can be printed on larger paper or display ed on a larger screen. When you use a high resolution, the le size will also increase .
Selecting a resolution and quality Shooting options 57 Selec ting an image quality Set the photo and video quality settings. Higher image quality settings will result in larger le sizes. Setting the photo quality The camera compr esses and saves the photos y ou capture in the JPEG format.
