OUTSIDE CALLS MAKING AN OUTSIDE CALL • Lift the handset and press an idle outside line button, line group button or dial a line access code to receive dial tone —OR— to use the speakerphone, pre.

CALL PR OCESSING SYSTEM HOLD • When y ou are connected to any call, press HOLD . The call will flash g reen at your keyset. If this call appears on a line key at other keysets, it will flash red at those keysets. • T o take the caller off hold, press that ke y and the green flashing light will go steady green again.

2. The station that receives a Forwarded All call can transfer the call to the f orwarded station. This is useful when you are e xpecting an impor tant call but you do not wish to be disturbed by other calls.

22 • The E key is used to hide digits. Display keyset users may want to hide some speed dial numbers so that they will not sho w in the display . When y ou are entering a telephone number , press E . All subsequent digits will be hid- den. Press E again to begin displaying digits.
24 P A GING AND MESSA GING MAKING AN INTERNAL P A GE T o make an announcement through the k eyset speak ers: • Lift the handset. • Press the PA G E ke y or dial 55 . • Dial the desired zone number 1 , 2 , 3 or 4 . OR Dial 0 to page all internal zones.
CANCELING MESSA GES T o cancel a message indication that you left at another station, dial 42 plus the extension number of the station at which you left a message. T o cancel all message indications left at your ke yset, dial 42 plus your e xten- sion.
APPOINTMENT REMINDER/ALARM CLOCK This feature works like an alarm clock. Use it to remind yourself of an appoint- ment later in the da y (TOD A Y ONL Y) or as a daily reminder e ver y da y (D AIL Y). Y ou can set up to three alar ms. Each one can be either a T OD A Y ONL Y or a D AIL Y alarm.
• Enter the account code (maximum 12 characters including ✱ and # ). Press the A CCT k ey again. Y our conv ersation will not be interrupted. NO TE : If you make an error before you complete the account code, press the A CCT k ey twice and redial the correct code.
32 CUST OMIZING Y OUR KEYSET SELECT RING T ONE Each keyset user can select any one of eight ring frequencies: • While on-hook, press TRSF and then dial 111 . • Dial 1 – 8 or press the UP and DO WN k e ys to hear each tone. • When y ou hear the tone that you pref er , press TRSF to sa v e it.
RING PREFERENCE This feature automatically answers ringing calls when you lift the handset or press the ANS/RLS ke y . This method will alwa ys ans wer calls in the order the y arrived at y our ke yset. When y ou tur n ring preference off , y ou must press the flashing button to answer a call, allowing you to answer calls in the order you choose.
DIAL BY DIRECT OR Y Each station or speed dial number can have an associated directory name. A station or speed dial number can be selected by scrolling alphabetically through a director y name list. This on-line “phone book” allo ws the user to look up and dial any station or speed dial number in seconds.

The DCS COMP ACT system can handle both types of Caller ID; in fact, in the case of number only deliv er y , the system can be programmed to inser t a name for a specific telephone number (up to a maximum of 250 numbers).
