3 CHAPTER 1 Welcome to the Mobile Connection Manager Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the Verizon Wireless PC5220 PC Card! The PC5220 is a 3G CDMA2000 1XEV - DO product that enables you to communicate wirelessly from your laptop at high speeds.

WARNING: Do not eject the PC5220 from your notebook until you have followed the Unplug/Eject Hardware instructions for proper removal. Removing the card improperly may cause a fatal error to your PC.

16 Signal Strength Indicato r The Signal Strength icon displays when the Mobile Connection Manager is turned on. The bars indicate the strength of the radio signal. Four bars signify that the signal strength is at its maximum peak. The strength will change depen ding on where you are.
17 Roaming Status Th e Roaming Status icon indicates the roaming status of your PC5220. When you are roaming, you are using the network of another service provider that offers coverage outside of your local coverage area. This typically happens when you are out of your coverag e area.

20 Roaming Pull - Down Menu: Managing the roaming feature of the PC5220 is simple. The roaming option is “Enabled” by default; hence the PC5220 will automatically roam when you are traveling outside of your local coverage area.
