4 SERVICE T ool service must be perfor med only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury . When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual.
5 SYMBOLS Some of the following symbols may be used on this tool. Please study them and learn their meaning. Proper interpr etation of these symbols will allow you to operate the tool better and safer .
6 SYMBOLS SERVICE Servicing requir es extreme care and knowledge and should be performed only by a qualified service technician. For service we suggest you return the product to the nearest AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER for r epair . When servic- ing, use only identical replacement parts.
7 EXTENSION CORDS When using a power tool at a considerable distance from a power source, be sure to use an extension cord that has the capacity to handle the current the tool will draw . An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in overheating and loss of power .

9 ASSEMBL Y UNP ACKING This product r equires assembly . Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
10 Fig. 3 LOCK-ON BUTTON SWITCH TRIGGER WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury . WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating power tools.
11 OPERA TION WARNING : Always install grinding wheel and abrasive mop disc with the depressed center against the disc flange as shown below . Failure to do so will cause the grinding wheel to crack when tightening the nut.
12 W ARNING : Wire wheel brush bristles will bend during use and show their direction of rotation. When reusing the wire wheel brush, always mount it to rotate in the same direction as in prior use.
13 ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: Before performing any adjustment, make sure the tool is unplugged from the power supply and the switch is in the OFF ( O ) position. Failur e to heed this warning could result in serious personal injury . GUARD ADJUSTMENT See Figure 9 - 11.

15 MAINTENANCE GUARD REPLACEMENT See Figure 13. After extended use, the guar d may become worn and need adjustment or replacing. Or , if you drop the angle grinder and damage the guard, it may be necessary to r eplace it. T o replace the guar d: Unplug the angle grinder .
