13 Getting Ready Placing the RD -700NX on a Stand If you place the RD-700NX on a stand, you must use the KS-G8 (sold separately). When placing the RD -700NX on the KS-G8, place it in the position shown below .

15 Getting Ready Connecting the Ex ternal E quipment to RD-700NX The RD-700NX is not equipped with an ampli er or speakers. In order to pr oduce sound, you need to hook up audio equipmen t such as a monitor speaker or a stereo set, or use headphones.

21 Overview of the RD -700NX About Liv e Sets The RD-700NX lets you store the sounds that y ou create. A sound you create is called a “Live Set”; you can use the buttons to recall a Live Set and then play it. Live Sets are organized in to a “ preset bank” and a “ user bank.

27 P er formance P er forming with a V ariety of Live Sets The RD-700NX comes with a many built-in Sounds. Each one of these individual sounds is called a “Live Set. ” Live Sets are assigned to the LIVE SET buttons accor ding to the tone category selected.

For each la yer (UPPER 1, UPPER 2, L OWER 1, LOWER 2), you can use the La yer switch and Lay er LEVEL slider to turn the sound on/o and adjust its volume.
32 P er formance T ransposing the Key of the Ke yboard (TRANSPOSE) Y ou can transpose performances without changing the keys you are pla ying, as well as change the pitch b y an octave.
33 P er formance Adding Rev erberation t o the Sound (RE VERB) The RD-700NX can apply a reverb e ect to the notes you play on the keyboard. Applying reverb adds pleasing rev erberation to what you pla y , so it sounds almost as if you wer e playing in a concert hall.
34 P er formance Changing the Sound ’ s Pitch in Real Time While playing the keyboard , move the lever to the left to lo wer the pitch, or to the right to raise the pit ch. This is known as P itch Bend. Y ou can also apply vibrato by manipulating the lev er away fr om you.
35 P er formance Adjusting the L ev els of Each Frequency R ange (EQUALIZER) The RD-700NX is equipped with a four-band equalizer. Y ou can use the EQU ALIZER [L OW ] knob, [L OW MID] k nob, [HIGH MID ] knob, and [HIGH] knob to adjust the level of each frequency range.
36 P er formance Disabling the Button By engaging the P anel Lock function, you can disable panel func tions. This prevents settings from being changed inadv er tently on stage or in other such situations. However , you ’ll still be able to operate the f ollowing buttons and knobs even while P anel Lock is in for ce.
