Chapter 2: Pr epar ing the GX 20 2-1 Installing Deciding On an Installation Site Install in a stable location offering good operating conditions. An unsuitable location can cause accident, faulty operation, or breakdo wn. W ARNING Install in a le vel and stable location.
2-1 Installing Chapter 2: Preparing the GX 21 Remo ving the P acking Materials T ape and packing materials are attac hed to the machine to protect it from vibration during tr ansportation. When installation is complete, remove these. ➢ Remove all packing materials.

If installed without supporting the screw in this wa y , cutting quality ma y become poor .

4-1 Practicing Cutting Using the T est-use Material Chapter 4: P erforming Cutting 43 If the two shapes peel off together or show other problems with cutting, adjust the blade for ce and perform a cutting test a second time. First, c hange the blade force.

When you w ant to adjust the position a little at a time, press the key repeatedly , holding it down for only a short time with eac h press.

If you ha ve performed a cutting test, then mo ve the cutting carriage to a location where it does not ov erlap with the test area.

Cut it to the required size for use. Before applying, thoroughly clean the surface w here you want to affix the material to remo ve any dust or grease.

Chapter 5: Maintenance 58 5-1 Cleaning Before attempting cleaning, lower the loading lev er and remove the material. Clean by wiping with a cloth moistened b y water then wrung dry . Notes ➢ Never use a solv ent such as thinner or benzine. ➢ Never attempt to oil or lubricate the machine.
