3 Battery Installation and Information Y our universal remote r equires two AAA Alkaline batteries (batteries may or may not be included, depending on model). T o install the batteries: 1. Remove the battery compartment cover . 2. Insert the batteries, matching the batteries to the (+) and (–) marks inside the battery compartment.

DVD • AUX CODE 8 Program for DVD•AUX— Direct Entry Method In order for the four component universal r emote to control your DVD player or auxiliary component, you must program it with the code that matches your component. The DVD • AUX key can be programmed to operate a DVD player or a second TV , VCR, DBS or cable box.
9 Code Search Methods Manual Code Search 1. Manually turn on the component you want the remote to operate. 2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH key for approximately thr ee seconds until all four component keys light up. Then release the CODE SEARCH key .

12 Highlighting and Selecting Menu Items T o navigate On-screen Menus, use the VOL UP/DOWN and/or CHAN UP/DOWN keys. VOL UP/DOWN keys move the cursor (or the highlight) right/left. CHAN UP/DOWN keys move the cursor (or the highlight) up/down. For RCA, GE or PROSCAN products, pr ess the MENU or ENTER key to select the highlighted item.
13 T roubleshooting Problem: The remot e can’t be programmed to operate your component. • Y ou may be too far away from the component or at a wrong angle. This r emote uses IR (infrared) technology to communicate with components. The remote sends the code and the component’s IR sensor reads the code.
14 Problem: The remot e does not operate your component. • Y ou may have pressed an invalid key for the mode the remote is in (for example, REC only works in VCR Mode).
