RCA L Version 2.0 14 4 Storage and transport 4.1 Storage The p artly pre-assembled d oor is delivered in a crat e. An und amaged crate makes it po ssible to store th e door externally fo r some days. The crate mus t be stored on even ground. The crate mus t not be removed before the start of installa tion.
RCA L Version 2.0 15 5 Installat ion 5.1 Inspection of the shipm ent The M&I Re-Coil-Away door is m ostly pre-assembled before leaving the facto ry. The side frame s together with the t op roll are atta ched to a pallet at the time of leaving the fa ctory.
RCA L Version 2.0 16 5.3 Starting the install 5.3.1 Setting up the side fames NOTE: Som e wall surfaces a re not ideal and m ay require shimming to kee p the side frame s square to each other. T his will help eliminate photocell m isalignment proble ms and curta in binding issues.
RCA L Version 2.0 17 5.4 Preparing the header assembly for lifting Loosen and remo ve the lower idler barrel bolt (f igure 5) and m ove the idler barrel out o f the way (figure 6) b efore lifting the header asse mbly. 5.4.1 Lifting loca tions There are eyebolts f or lifting the heade r assembly into place , located on the header plat es.
RCA L Version 2.0 18 5.4.2 Lifting w ith a fork lift W ARNING: You must no t ever lift using the bottom beam o r the idler barrel be tween the forks an d the he ader assemb ly, damage can occur. You can pla ce the f orks of th e forklift up under th e top roll (figure 9 ).

RCA L Version 2.0 20 5.6 Driv e Chain Tension Figure 11 is a f inished he ader assemb ly that has bee n installed. A lso note the idler barrel has bee n bolted b ack into place back. Chain ten sion should b e checked a fter the door is cycled a f ew times.
RCA L Version 2.0 21 5.7 Counter Balance Springs 5.7.1 Pre-charging Springs The sp rings must be p re-charged with the door curtain in the up position. T his pre charge amo unt is listed on the spring bracket, this should be should be stampe d with numbe rs for example 3 S and 4 T.
RCA L Version 2.0 22 5.8 Closing the side frames Open th e side f rame covers as shown in f igure 16. Bring the curtain down so it travels behind the idler barrel and down into the guide s of the side fram e.
RCA L Version 2.0 23 5.8 Hand Chain Operator The o perator is equippe d with an emergency cha in hoist and floor-level disconne ct mechan ism to ope rate the do or manua lly, if necessary. To m anually operate the door: Pull the d isconnect cha in downwards to the “disen gaged” position (See f igure 14a).
RCA L Version 2.0 24 5.9 A djustment of limit sw itches 1) Remove the cover of the electrical enclosure . 2) Manually raise the door to a nearly open positio n. 3) Depress the travelling cam retaining bracke t and rotate the Open cam (figure 1 8). Note: turnin g the cam towa rds the cent er of the sh aft increases th e door travel.
