2 ˆ Features Your RadioShack FM Cordless Room Monitor lets you hear what’s going on in another roo m, when you can’t be in the room yourself. It is simple to use and install . Power Options — let you power your tran smitter from AC pow- er with the supplied adapter, or four AA batteries (not supplied) for portabl e use.

6 Preparation ˆ Preparation SELECTING A LOCATION You can place the transmitter on a desktop or table, or mount it on a wall. And, you can carry the recei ver with you.
7 Preparation Caution: The supplied RadioShack ad apter was designed specifically for your room monitor . Use only the supplied adapter . 2. Plug the adapter ’s AC plug into a standard AC outlet. Unplug the adapter when yo u are not going to use the transmit- ter for a long time.
8 Preparation Warning: Dispose of old batteries pro mptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them. Cautions: • Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. • Do not mix old and new batteries, di f ferent types of batter- ies (standard, alkaline, or rechargeabl e), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.
9 Preparation 1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the receiver by inserting a flat-blade screwdriver into the notch on the cover , then lifting off the cover . 2. Remove the battery from the compartment. 3. Plug the battery’s plastic connector into the socket in the battery compartment.
10 Preparation 9. Place the receiver into the charging slot on the charger . The POWER/CHARGE indicator on the charger lights. After the battery is charged, yo u can use the rece iver while it is still in the charger. If you carry the receiver around with you, place it back in the charger when you are th rough using it so it can charge.

12 Operation USING THE RECEIVER ’ S BELT CLIP The belt clip on the re ceiver lets you keep your hands fre e while monito ring. To detach the belt clip, unlatch the clip by lifting the tab sligh tly with your finger or a screwdriver, then slide the belt clip in the direction of the arrow.
13 Operation As the receiver moves aw ay from the transmitter , the hiss- ing background noise increa ses. Move closer to the trans- mitter to eliminate the noise. Note: Range varies d epending on obstru ctions, such as the number of walls between the transmitt er and receiver , locations of furniture and applian ces, and so on.
14 Troubleshooting ˆ T roubleshooting If a problem oc curs, check that: • Both the transmitter and the receiver are on. • Both adapters are plugged in firmly , or the transmitter ’s adapter is plugged in firmly (or the transmi tter has fresh batteries).
