10 PREPARATION SETTING THE DATE Press to turn on the pager, t hen f ollow t hese st eps to set t he cur rent dat e. Notes: • If you do not set the date, the pag er incor rectly repor ts the dates of you r pages. • If you do not press a but ton wi thin 10 second s, the pager r eturn s to the ti m e/da te displ ay .

14 Selectin g the T one Pattern When you set the pager t o s ound tones fo r pages, you have a c hoice o f fi ve tone pat terns. To select a tone pa tter n: 1. Make sure to ne alert is selec t ed (see “Se lecting Sile nt or T one Ale rt” on Page 13).

16 RECEIVING AND READING MESSAGES When th e pa ger recei ves a page, it ale rts (bee ps or vi- brat es) f or 8 seconds . Press any butt on t o sto p the aler t sooner . The pager displ ays t he number o f un- read pages . Press to disp lay the fi rst unread mess age.

19 Overflow Messa ge (Memory Full) Your pag er can st ore up t o 16 messag es at once i n its memor y. I f the pager’ s m e mo ry i s fu ll when it re ceives a mess age, OVERFLOW appear s and the new mes- sage repl aces th e o ldest, unpr otect ed message in memor y (see “Pro tecti ng and Unprot ectin g Messag- es” on Page 20).
20 PROTECTING AND UNPROTECTING MESSAGES Foll ow these steps to protec t a mess age fr om being repl aced (i f t he m em or y is fu ll ) or acci dent ally del eted. 1. Repeate dly pr ess u ntil t he pager di spl ays the mess age you want to pr otect. 2.

24 AUTOMATIC OPERATION You can set your pager to automat ically tur n on and off at s pecific ti m es e very d ay. To do s o, sel ect auto- matic operat ion then set the desire d on an d off times. 26 USING THE ALARM You can set your p ager’s alarm to s ound at the same time e ach day. The pager alerts f or 20 sec onds at t he set al arm tim e. Press any b ut ton t o stop t he alert sooner . The pager sounds again the next day , unless you tu rn it o ff.
