They occ upy the f irst 32 loc ations o n the A SCII code c hart (sho wn in Appendix A) and are repre sented by two - or three- letter abbr eviations .
Control Codes 27 DC3 (Device Control-3 13H) Switches the pri nter fro m on-line to loca l mode. Cau ses the p rinter t o ignore all data except a DC1. I f the seri al interfac e is se lected, DC 3 acts as a data stream control code.
