To list Conference Profiles: 1 In the RMX Management pane, expand the Rarely Used list. 2 Click the Conferen ce Profiles button. The Conference Profiles are displayed in the List pane.

It is used by endpoints that do not support other protocols. • H.263 - a video compression algorithm that provides a better video quality than H.

Polycom RMX 2000 Administrator ’s Guide 2-9 Enabling HD Video Switching For the MCU to ru n HD Video Switching conferences the following criteria must be met: •T h e HD_THRESHOLD_ BITRATE flag must be set in the System Configur ation . The value of th is flag is t he system minimum threshold bit rate.

Chapter 2-Additional Conferencing Information 2-26 Lecture Mode Monitoring A conference in which the Lecture Mode is enabled is st arted as any othe r conference. The conference runs as an audio activated Continuous Presence conference until the lecturer connects to the conference .

Polycom RMX 2000 Administrator ’s Guide 2-29 Closed Captions Endpoints can provide real-time te xt transcriptions or language translations of the video conference by displaying closed captions.
Chapter 2-Additional Conferencing Information 2-30 — Encrypted and non-encrypted conferences. — Conferences with Content. Enabling Closed Captions Closed Captions are enabl ed by a system flag. By defa ult, Closed Captions are disabled. To change the flag value: 1 On the RMX 2000 menu, click Setup > System Configuration .
Polycom RMX 2000 Administrator ’s Guide 2-31 Media Encryption Encryption is available at the confer ence and participant level s, based on AES 128 Media Encryption and DH 1024 Key Exchange standards. Media Encryption guidel ines: • Encryption is not available in all countries and it is enabled in t he MCU license.
Chapter 2-Additional Conferencing Information 2-32 Conference access is set in the system configuration by the flag ALLOW_NON_ENCRYPT_PARTY_IN _ENCRYPT_CONF as follows: Encrypted Entry Queue Access To be able to join a conference from an Entry Queue as an encrypted participant, encryption must be enabled in the Profi le assigned to the Entry Queue.

To start an ongoing conference from a Template: 1 In the Conference Templates list, select the Templ ate you want to start as an ongoing conference.
Chapter 2-Additional Conferencing Information 2-50 Cascading Conferences - Star T opology Cascading enables administrators to connect one conference directly to another conference using an H.323 connection , creating one large conference. The conferences can run on the same MCU or different MCUs.
Polycom RMX 2000 Administrator ’s Guide 2-51 When cascading two conferences, the video layout displayed in the cascaded conference is determined by the selected layout in each of the two conferences. Each of the two conferences will inherit the video layout of the other conference in one of their windows.
Chapter 2-Additional Conferencing Information 2-52 Enabling Cascading Cascading two conferences requires that the following procedures are implemented: • Creating the cascade-enabled Entry Queue A cascade-enabled Entry Queue mus t be created in the MCU h osting the destination conference (Conference B).

If both conf erences are running on the same MCU, only one RMX Web Client window is required.
