T ur n on the filtration pump and flush out the plumbing line. 2. Remov e the universal w all fitting from the quick disconnect.
D. Cutting the Feed Hose 1. Straighten the f eed hose by soaking it in hot w ater or la ying it in the sun. 2. Measure and mark the deepest par t of the pool (usually the main drain) with a telepole. If the pool depth is 10 f eet or more, do not cut the clear hose and skip to step 5.
6 10. Reinstall the s wivel with the flow arro ws on the s wivel pointing to ward the P olaris. (Refer to the “Proper Nut Placement” diag ram.) 11. On the clear hose, mak e sure one float is against the back-up v alve on the side oppo- site the cleaner and another float is upstream within 2- 3 f eet.
7 2. Sweep Hose Adjustment The s weep hose should mov e in a gentle sw eeping motion. T o decrease its motion, turn the s weep hose adjustment screw cloc kwise. See the “Assembling the P olaris” diag ram on page 6. Make sure the s weep hose scrubber does not b loc k the water flowing from the s weep hose.
III .O peration and Maintenance 8 A. What to Expect From Y our P olaris 380 When operating correctly , the P olaris 380 will tra vel randomly throughout the pool, v acuuming, sw eeping and scr ubbing the bottom, sides , and most of the steps and s wimouts.
9 2. Open the velcro closure and dump out the debris. ➔ If the velcro closure begins to lose its “grip”, r inse it, let it dr y and clean it with a stiff brush. 3. P osition the velcro closure on the bag closest to the f eed hose, align the prongs and snap the bag to the cleaner .
10 H. Storage Ne ver store the P olaris in direct sunlight or with the f eed hose coiled. ➔ If coils do f or m, lay the hose in the sun or soak it in hot water to help straighten it bef ore reinstalling. I. Winterizing F reeze damage is not co vered under warr anty .
