Chapter 1 Introduction Thank you for purchasing PLANET IP Power Manager . This manual guide s you on how to install and properly use th e IP Power Manager in order to take full advant age of its features.

Name Function Description LAN Ethernet (LAN) port Enables you to connect IP Power Manag er to a LAN or WA N . Console Console port Enables you to config ure t h e IP Power Manager us in g the serial port. Or y ou can conne ct an op tional EMD to this port.
Chapter 2 Hardware Installation Before you proceed with the inst allation, it is necessary that you have enou gh information about the IP Power Manager . 2.1 Connecting Input Power The IP Power Manager h as an IEC C20 p ower inlet f or supp lying an d man agin g power fo r th e output device s.
2.3 Connecting Digital Outputs The IP Power Manager provid es two dig ital outputs (NO by default) to which you can connect in dicators or other o utput de vices that are normally open ( NO) or normally closed (N C). The digital output connectors are work as a switch to let you switch the connected device On or Off.
2.5 Connecting The Console Y ou can control the output devices and manage thei r power statu s through the cons ole por t with ser ia l co nnection. Use th e bundled serial cable to c onnect the COM port o f yo ur PC and the CONSOL E port of the IP Power Manager as shown.

Each but ton allows y ou to set the remote control function as well as turn power on/of f for each outlet manually .
Chapter 4 Quick Setup When you are first time configure your IP Power Manager . Y ou may refer to this chapter to know how to initial your IP Power Manager fastest. 1. Please insert User ’s Manual and Utility CD in to the CD-ROM drive to initiate the autorun program.
5. In default, IP Power Ma nager is DHCP client enables. If there is no DHCP server in your network. Please click “Set I P” button. Then enter an IP address th at in the same segm ent of your configuration PC. Please pre ss “OK”. 6. Please press “Browse” butt on, then you will see a dialog box asking you the user name and password.

Chapter 5 Configure With Console The IP Power Manage r has provided a serial port that enables you to configure and control the system throu gh yo ur PC’ s RS-232 serial (C OM) p ort. Use the serial c able provided to connec t the console port to you r PC’ s COM port as de scr ib ed in “Co nnect in g th e cons ol e”.

5.2 IP Power Manager Configuration In this option. Y ou can setup the general settings of this IP Power Manager. 5.2.1 System Group In this option. Y ou can change the IP Powe r Manager IP settings, system date and time. Option Description IP Addres s The IP address of IP Power Manager is dotted format.
5.2.2 Control Group - 9 - Option Description Administrator User Name In default, the user name is “admin”. Y ou can change the user name to a simply memorize name. Administrator Password In default, the password i s “admin”. Please change the p assword to IP Power Manager in the first time configuration.

5.5 Trap Receiver Table This page li sts the p arameters for SN MP trap receivers (For SNM P Networ k Management). Option Description IP Addres s The IP Address in dotted format of the NMS station to which th e trap should be sent . Community S tring The co mmuni ty string of the trap PDU to be sent.
5.6 Reset Configuration To Default When you would like to reset IP Power Manger to default configuration, please select this option and press “y”. 5.7 Restart IP Power Manager After configuration, please select this option to make the ne w functi on works.

Chapter 6 Web Configuration The IP Power Manage r provides a graph ic us er i n t er f ace t h a t ca n be viewed from a web browser such as Inte rnet Explore r .

Power Off Delay (Seconds) Set power off delay time in seconds. The outlet will turn of f after the delay time. Output Current Threshold (Amp) Set the upper limit of output current in Amp. Output Current Ov er Threshold T urn Power Off If selected, it will turn power of f of outlet when this event occurred.
T urn On / T urn Off button T urn digital outputs on or of f manually . 6.1.2 Schedule This page all ows user to add or remove the IP Power Manager' s schedule list dynamically . The maximum schedule is 32. When you would like to add a new schedule, pl ea se press “Add New”.
T ype" is "S pecial Schedule". Schedule Date (yyyy/mm/d d) Set the date of this schedule. Schedule Ti me (hh:mm) The time in 24-hour format means whe n the outlet should turn of f or turn on its out put power . Outlet s Action Set the outlet action to be on or off.
- 22 - Option Description Sensor Name Configure the name of a sensor (o r device) with up to 15 characters. Set Point The threshold of a sensor (T emperature or Humidity) will trigger an alarm, whenever the me asurement is over (hi gh) or under (low) t he set point.
EMD T emperature Unit Choose the displayed temperature unit to “Celsius” or “Fahrenheit”. 6.2.3 Alarm This page allows user to modify the parame ters associate d with the enviro nme nt events.
Option Description Configure System System Name This field allows the user to set the value in System name that is defined in MIB-II or to view the curr ent setting. Size is 31 characters. System Cont act This field allows the user t o set the value in System manager (System Contact ) that is defined in MIB-II or to view the current se tting.
Option Description Index This column provides a reference numb er for the existence u ser . User Name The user name which i s used to l og in t he IP Power Manager system. Password The password which is u s ed to log in the IP Power Manager system. Outlet Privilege The security level for each outlet.
6.3.3 Date & T ime This page prov ides the appropriate options below to enable the IP Power Manager date/time to be changed in dif ferent methods. It will show the current date and time of the IP Power Manager . This can be cha nged to synchroni ze with a comp uter , and enquiry from a time serv er (NTP) or manually .
6.3.4 T rap Receivers This page li st s the parameters for SNMP trap receivers (For SNMP Network Man agement). Option Description Index The index number of the entry in the tab le. NMS IP Address The IP Address in dotted format of the NMS station to which the trap should be sent .
6.3.6 WOL IP Pow er Manager has support WOL function to wake your PCs up. 6.3.7 Email Notification This page is allowed when the security level is “Adm inistrator”. There are two group s in this page, one is “General Conf iguratio n” group and the other is “Email Re ceivers T ables”.
