1 C HAPTER 1 Your New Planar LCD Monitor Your New Planar LCD Monitor! Your New Planar LCD Monitor has been de signed to be versat ile, ergonomic and user-friendly. . The LCD Monitor is capable of display ing most standards, from 640 x 480 VGA to 1280 x 1024 SXGA.
Planar User’s Manual 2 Your New Planar LCD Monitor — Fro nt View 1. LCD Screen This is the LCD moni tor screen. It is a 17-inch diagonal , Acitve Matrix Liquid Cryst al Display (AMLC D). The screen is capa ble of supporting a m aximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 (SXGA).
Chapter 1 3 1. LCD Monitor’s VGA Connector This 1.5 mete r cable has two 15-pin D-Sub VGA connectors used to connect t he monitor to your PC’s VGA card.

Connect t he VGA signal ca ble to the D-sub VG A connector locate d at the rear of the monit or. 3. Connect the other end of t he signal cable t o the PC’s VGA port.
5 C HAPTER 2 The Display Controls Your New Planar LCD Moni tor’s Display Controls This chapter covers y our New Planar LCD M onitor’s On Screen Display (OSD). Using the OSD, you c an adjust the contrast, brightness, display posit ion, display clarit y, and colo r temperat ure.
Planar User’s Manual 6 The OSD-Control option all ows you to adjust the posi tion an d setting of t he monitor’s On Scre en Display. The MISC-Control option allows y ou to select th e desired text.
Chapter 2 7 Reset: Press the Adjust button to reset the Monitor-Control submenu values t o the factory default v al- ues. Exit: Press the Ad just button key to exit the Mon itor-Cont rol submen u. OSD - Control Opt ion Pressing the Adju st key while the OSD Control icon is selected activates the OSD Con trol submenu.

11 A PPENDIX C Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Procedures This LCD Moni tor was pre-adjusted in the factory with standard VGA ti ming. Due to output tim ing differenc es among various VGA cards, y ou may i nitially experience an unst able or unclear di splay when a new display m ode or new VGA card is sel ected.
