Install the Back-up Batt ery Remove the co ver from the ba ttery compartment. Inser t the back-up battery and r eplace the cover . Notes: • The back-up battery is int ended for back-up purposes and must be installed f or your W ireless Home Phone base to operat e.
Connect the Device to a Phone 1) Unplug your phone from your home phone wall jack. 2) Plug your phone into the “Phone 1” port on the Wir eless Home Phone base, using your existing phone cable or included phone cable. IMPORT ANT : DO NOT plug the W ireless Home Phone base or your phones int o your wall jacks.
Set up V oicemail and Additional Phones V oicemail is included with your service. Dial “1” to set up and access . If you choose to use an answering machine inst ead, set it to f ewer than 5 rings. T o place phones throughout your home, use a cordless phone system with multiple handsets.
Using Y our Device Making Calls Using a phone connected to y our Wireless Home Phone base, place and receive calls as y ou normally would. The Wir eless Home Phone base supports both cordless and corded phone dialing methods. Note: Y ou will need to dial 10 digits even f or local numbers.
Notes: • Y our Wireless Home Phone base comes with standar d three- way calling and call waiting. Opera tion of these fea tures will vary depending on your home phone equipment. • If your phone does not hav e a Flash (or Phone/T alk ) k ey , then use the off -hook mechanism supported by your phone.
Notes: • F our volume levels are av ailable (level 1 t o level 4); the def ault setting is the highest at lev el 4. • Y our home phone(s) may have a separat e volume level setting function that is independen t of the Wireless Home Phone base.

Cordless phone systems provide the most fle xibility and allow you to easily place additional handsets thr oughout your home.
