1 Pr oduct ov erview This A T&T TR1909 Trimline® t elephone with caller ID/call waiting can be used either in tablet op or wall-mount position, and requir es four AA alk aline batt eries (not included) for batt ery- powered functions. The t elephone can still oper ate with limited featur es when ther e are no bat teries install ed.
Getting start ed 2 Handset lay out OPTION Press t o display the setting options. While in the option menu, press t o save the selection and move to the ne xt feature (page 13).

NOTE: Do not mix old and new batt eries and do not mix alkaline and standar d (carbon-zinc) batt eries. When the batt eries are installed, the scr een will show 12:00 and the clock will begin to run.

9 Getting start ed Inst allation options W all installation T o install the telephone base in the w all-mount position, make sure that y ou first unplug the telephone line c ord fr om the telephone w all jack and remov e it from the channel. 1 . Lift the handset and place it aside.
Getting start ed 10 11 2. Remove the mounting bracket from the base. Hold the telephone base with both hands and then slide the brack et upwar ds as the arrows indicat e. 3. Rot ate the br acket t o the wall-mounting position. Push the bracket upwar ds as shown below until it clicks into plac e.

25 About caller ID This product support s caller ID services that most local tel ephone service companies pro vide. There is a f ee for this service, and it might not be availabl e in all areas. Caller ID with call waiting lets y ou see the name and telephone number of the call er befor e answering the telephone, ev en when on another call.
26 Caller ID operation How call er ID works If you subscribe to call er ID service pro vided by your local t elephone company , information about each call er appears between the first and second ring. If an incoming call is answer ed befor e the information appear s on the screen, no information is st ored or displa yed.
