2 Avoid placing the headset base too close t o: • Communication devices such as television sets, VCRs or other cordl ess telephones. • Excessive heat sources. • Noise sources such as a window with traffic outside, motors, microwav e ovens, refrigerator s or fluor escent lighting.

2 Quick r ef er ence guide - headset V OL U ME / + - Press the volume k eys on the side of the headset to adjust the listening volume when on a call. MUTE/FLASH Press to mut e the microphone during a call. Press and hold to answer a call waiting call while on a call.
3 Three quick beeps VOL UME / + - keys ar e pressed when the volume is already at its highest or lowest setting. The headset is not regist ered and the headset ON/ OFF button was pr essed. The headset is out of range from the headset base during a call.

6 NO LIFTER MODE On when NO LIFTER MODE is selected (default mode). Flashes quickly when there is an incoming call. Flashes when the headset is in use or another telephone on the same line is in use. • • • LIFTER MODE On when LIFTER MODE is selected.

10 Bat t ery installation Install the battery as shown below . After installing the bat tery , you ma y be able to mak e and r eceive short calls. For optimal performance, charge the headset battery for at least six hours befor e use. When the headset is not in use, r echarge the headset by returning it to the headset base.
11 Bat t ery char ging After installing the batt ery, charge the headset by placing it on the headset base as shown below . The headset ON/OFF light is on when the headset is char ging. CAUTION: There may be a risk of detonation if you use a wrong type of batt ery .

13 Headset base and handset lift er install ation No lifter mode or lift er mode There are two answer modes available on the headset base. The current mode is indicated by the NO LIFTER MODE or LIFTER MODE lights on the front of the headset base.

16 Option 1: Connect the handset lifter t o a cor ded phone 1. Unplug the curly handset cor d from the telephone and plug it into the C U R L Y C O R D jack (light blue dot) on the headset base.
17 Adjust the cor ded handset audio 1. Make sur e that LIFTER MODE light on the headset base is on. Press the MODE button on the headset base t o change the mode. 2. Lift the corded handset t o release the switch hook. Place the cor ded handset aside.
18 At tach the lift er 1. T o choose where t o install the lifter on your telephone, look at the spac e underneath the corded handset. If ther e is a speaker , the lifter should be center ed over the speak er . If there is no speak er , the lifter should be cent ered within the space.

20 Lifter adjustment s and testing 1. Make sur e that the headset base is set to LIFTER MODE and that the LIFTER AUDIO AD JUST setting is corr ect. 2. T urn the switch hook presser adjustment knob until the switch hook presser is just above the switch hook.

22 Inst all the auxiliary ring detector 1. Insert the auxiliary ring detector plug int o the RING DETECT jack on the lifter . 2. Remove the pr otective strip fr om the adhesive tape on the auxiliary ring detector . 3. Stick the auxiliary ring detector t o the center of the cor ded phone speaker .

24 Headset base install ation Option 2: Connect the headset to a t elephone wall jack In or der to make calls using this installation option, you need a telephone plugged into the same telephone line or a dial pad (TL7601 pur chased separatel y). Mak e sure the headset base mode is set to NO LIFTER MODE .

Plug one end of the telephone line cord int o the TEL WALL JACK (red dot) at the back of the headset base.

27 Headset oper ation Answering a call on the headset When the headset base is connected to a cor ded handset of your telephone with the handset lifter inst alled (option 1): Press ON/ OFF on the headset. The switch hook pr esser rises and releases the swit ch hook.
