6 FEA TURE SETUP Y ou can set up one feature at a time as described below , or y ou can set up a featur e, and then move on to set up another f eature. After you c hange one featur e, press U to e xit, or select the DONE softkey to move to the ne xt feature.
7 FEA TURE SETUP Ringer Off / Battery Sa v e When the Ringer is set to OFF , the handset stays ready to use f or up to 30 days in the standby mode bef ore you hav e to return it to the base for recharging. When the Ringer is off , the P age/Handset Locator f eature does not wor k, and the screen does not display incoming call inf or mation.
8 Pr ogramming Home and Local Area Codes Y our “home area code” is the area code from whic h you are dialing. Numbers called within your home area code do not require y ou to dial a “1” or the area code bef ore dialing the telephone number .
9 FEA TURE SETUP Call List Options Y ou can customize how the phone stores call inf or mation. Select whether the system stores inf ormation a bout ALL CALLS receiv ed, or for NO CALLS . The system comes set to ALL CALLS . 1 Make sure the is not displayed.

Flash Press F to activate custom-calling services such as Call W aiting or Three-W ay Calling.
13 Changing Channels This cordless telephone has an advanced A utoSelect f eatur e that minimizes the chance of interf erence. When the phone is looking for a c lear channel, the screen displays SEARCHING... . If it is unable to locate a clear c hannel, the screen displa ys TRY AGAIN .
14 Y ou can store up to 20 telephone numbers and names in memor y . The telephone memor y works with the Memory Match and Prior ity Ring featur es. When you r eceive a call from a number y ou’ ve stored in memory , the screen displays the name inf ormation as you’ ve stor ed it, not as the service sends it (f or example, “ MOM AND DAD ”).
15 TELEPHONE MEMOR Y Replacing a Stor ed Number Y ou can replace a stored number by storing a new number in its place. Follo w the directions for “Storing Number s in Memor y . ” Storing a Number and Name fr om Call Histor y in T elephone Memory Y ou can store information receiv ed fr om Caller ID in the telephone memory .
16 Editing Memory Numbers 1 Follo w Steps 1 through 4 in “Viewing Numbers in Memor y . ” 2 Press U . 3 T o edit a number , use the softke y to select EDIT . 4 Press < to erase digits, then use the dial pad to enter new digits. 5 Select DONE to edit the name.

18 Call W aiting If you hav e Caller ID with Call W aiting ser vice, the screen will displa y inf or mation about your Call W aiting call when you hear the call signal.
19 Re viewing Call History Y ou can review information in the call histor y at any time by pressing either < or > , or by pressing U , then selecting CALL ID . The screen displa ys the number of calls in the call histor y and how many , if any , are ne w .
20 Deleting Call Recor ds from Call History NOTE: Once y ou delete a call from call history , y ou cannot retrieve the call inf ormation. Deleting a Specific Call Record 1 Press < or > to scroll to the r ecord you w ant to remov e. 2 Press M . 3 Use the softkey to select DELETE .
21 BA TTERIES Charging the Handset Ba tter y P ack This batter y should remain charg ed up to 15 days with the Ring er turned on and up to 30 days with the Ring er off. A full y charg ed batter y provides an averag e talk time of about 10 hours. The batter y pack needs charging when: • A new batter y is installed in the handset.
22 BA TTERIES The RBRC ™ seal means that the manuf acturer is voluntarily participating in an industr y program to collect and r ecycle Nickel-Cadmium rec hargeable batteries when taken out of ser vice within the United States. These batteries may be taken to a participating local retailer of replacement batteries or recycling center .
23 OPERA TING RANGE This cordless telephone operates within the maximum po wer allow ed by the Federal Comm unications Commission (FCC). Even so, the handset and base can communicate over onl y a certain distance — which can vary with the locations of the base and handset, the w eather , and the construction of your home or office.

26 IN CASE OF DIFFICUL TY If the caller’ s name or phone number is not displa yed during Call W aiting: • Make sure y ou subscr ibe to combined Caller ID with Call W aiting ser vice. • The screen ma y not display the call inf or mation if someone is on an e xtension phone.
