Introduction 6 Import ant safety instructions When using the product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury . 1. Read all instructions carefully . 2. Follow all warnings and instru ctions marked on the product.
Introduction 7 CAUTION: Installation L Never install telephone wiring during a lightning sto rm. L Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the ja ck is specifically designed for wet locations. L Never touch uninsulated telepho ne wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
Introduction 8 L When a failure occurs which results in the internal parts becoming accessible, disconnect the power suppl y cord immediately and return the product to an authorised service centre.
Introduction 9 L The product should b e kept away from heat sources such as heaters, kitchen stoves, etc. It should not be placed in rooms where the temperature is less than 5 °C or greater than 40 °C.
Preparation 10 Setting up the base unit Connecting the AC adaptor and telephone line cord Connect the telephone line cord until it clicks into the base unit ( A ) and telephone line socket ( B ). Connect the AC adaptor cord by pressing the plug firmly ( C ).
Preparation 11 Setting up the handset Connecting the charger L Use only the included Panasonic AC adaptor PQL V19AL. Battery inst allation/replacement 1 Press the notch of the handset cover firmly, and slide it in the direction of the arrow. L If necessary , remove the old battery .
Preparation 12 Battery charge Place the handset on the base unit or charger for 6 hours before initia l use. While charging, “ Charging ” is displayed and the CHARGE indicato r on the base unit ligh ts. Wh en the ba ttery is f ully charged, “ Charge completed ” is displayed.
Preparation 13 Note: L Battery operating ti me may be shortened over time depending on usage conditions and surrounding temperature. L Battery power is consumed whenever the handset is off the base unit or charger , even when the handset is not in use.

By pressing a soft key , you can select th e feature shown directly above it on the display . { Select } , { Save } , { OK } , { Recall } and additional other func tions are assigned to soft keys, p ay attention to sof t keys to find functions you need during han dset operation.

Phonebook 24 Chain dial This feat ure allows you to dial phone numbers in the handset phonebook whil e you are on a call. Caller ID Service 25 Using Caller ID service This unit is Caller ID compatible. T o use Caller ID features, you must subscribe to your telephone company’s Caller ID service. Caller I D features When an outside call is being receive d, the calling party’ s telephone number is displayed.

Answering System 32 Answering system Important: L Only 1 person can access the answerin g system at a time. L When callers leave messa ges, the unit records the day and time of each message.
Answering System 33 Playing back the greeting me ssage Press { GREETING CHECK } . Erasing your greeting message Press { GREETING CHECK } , and then press { ERASE } while your greeting message is playing.

Multi-unit Operation 38 Intercom Intercom calls can be made: – between the handse t and base unit – between handsets (KX-TG2632) Note: L If you receive a phone call while talking on the interco m, you hear 2 tones (page 30). T o answer the call, press { OFF } , then press {C} .
Multi-unit Operation 39 Answering an interco m call 1 Press {C} to answer the page. 2 To end the intercom call, press { OFF } . 1 Press { 1 } or { 2 } to answer the page. 2 To end the intercom call, press { 1 } or { 2 } . Note: L When the ringer volume is set to o ff, the handset rings at the low level for intercom calls.
Multi-unit Operation 40 2 Press { OFF } . L The outside call rings at the other handset. Note: L If the paged party does not answer the call, press {C} to return to the call. If not answered within 1 minute, the call will ring at your handset again. If you still do not answer the call within 4 minutes, the call will b e disconnected.
