Preparat ion 13 VQT0 S19 Chargi ng the Battery with the Charger When the camera is shipped, the battery is not charged. Charge the battery before use. 1 Attach the battery with attentio n to the direc tion of the batte ry . 2 Connect the charger to the electrical outlet.

Subjects such as people become dark when pictures are recorded in the backlight. Recording pictur es (adv anced) 68 VQT0S1 9 This mode allows you to tak e a picture in locations such as skiing r esor ts and locations near s nowy mountains. The ex posure and the white balance ar e adjusted to make t he white color of the snow stand out.
Recording pictures (adv anced) 69 VQT0 S19 This mode allows you to take a picture of yourself . n T echnique for Self-portrai t mode • When y ou are focused b y pressing the shutter button halfway , the self-timer indicator lights up. Fix the camera f irm ly and then pre ss the shut ter button fully .
Recording pictur es (adv anced) 70 VQT0S1 9 Using the [REC] mode menu Setting the hue, picture quality adjustment, etc. allows y ou to create wide v ar iations on taking pictures. • Set the mode dial to the des ired recording mode. • The menu items depend on t he selected recording mode.

Y ou can select 4 types of quali ty (compression rate) according to the usage of the picture. • When the q uality is set to [TIFF] or [RAW], a JPEG picture with the quality equal t o the Standard [ H ] is created at the same time.

When the AF mode is set t o 1-area- f ocusing, 1-ar ea-f ocusing ( high speed) or spot-focusing, the time required f or f ocusing when pressing the shutter button halfwa y will be reduced.
