65 VQT3 A36 Recording ∫ About the Histogram A histogram is a graph that display s brightnes s along the horizontal axis (black to white) and the number of pixels at each brightness level on t he vertical axis. It allows you to easily check a picture’s exposure.
VQT3 A36 66 Recording [REC] Mode: T aking Pic tures with the Zoo m [Y ou can only use the Optical Zoom in [ ], and the Optical Zoom, the E xtended T ele Conversion in [ ¿ ], [ ], [ ] and [ ] mode.
67 VQT3 A36 Recording Note • With the Ext ended T ele Conversion, for examp le, when it is set to [ ] (equal to 4 million pixels), it will t ake t he picture using the 4 million pi xels in the center out of the 16 million pixels of the imagin g device, result ing to be more of a telep hoto picture.

VQT3 A36 76 Recording • In the Qu ic k Menu (P57) while in button op eration, if set to [ ] (viewfinder style), after selecti ng the Exp osure Compensat ion displa y using the re ar dial or 2 / 1 , p ressing t he rear d ial or [MENU/SET] will allow you to compensate the exposure wit h th e rear dial or 2 / 1 .
77 VQT3 A36 Recording • First burs t speed has no re lation with th e transfer sp eed of the card. • The burst s peed values giv en above apply when th e shutter speed is 1/60 or fa ster and when the flas h is not activat ed. • The Burst Mode sp eed may become slower dep ending on t he f ollowing setting s.

81 VQT3 A36 Recording [REC] Mode: Setting the Method used to Focus (AF Mode ) This allows the focusing method that suits the positions and number of the subjects to be selected. Also, it is possible t o set the focus and expos ure to t he subject spec ified on the touch panel.
VQT3 A36 82 Recording Focus and exposure ca n be adjusted to a spec ified subject. Focus and exposure will keep on following the subject even if it moves. (Dynamic tracking) ∫ When operating the touch panel Y ou can lock the subject by touching it. • The AF area turn s yellow while the subject is locked.

VQT3 A36 84 Recording [REC] Mode : T aking Pic tures with Manua l Focus Use this function when you want to f ix the focus or when the distance between the lens and the subject is determined and you do not want to activate Auto Focus. Set the focus mode lever to [MF].

VQT3 A36 86 Recording [REC] Mode: Fixing the Focus an d the Exposure (AF/AE Lock) This is useful w hen you want to take a picture of a subject outside the AF area o r the contrast is t oo strong and you c annot achieve appropriate exposure. Align the screen with the subject.
