Preparation 14 Using the A C Adaptor Y ou can use the camera without w orr ying about battery discharge by connecting to an A C adaptor. Preparation • Check that the camera is turned off and that t he lens is retracted. 1 Connect the AC cable. 2 Open th e termina l door .

Preparation 25 Using the L CD Monitor ª Selecting the screen to be used Press the [DISPLA Y] button to switch to the screen to be used. • When the m enu screen appears, during multi playbac k or during playbac k zoom, the [DISPLA Y] b utton is not activated.
Preparation 26 About the His togram • A histogram is a graph that displa ys brightness along the horizontal axis (blac k to white) and the number of pixels at each brightness le vel on the vertical ax is. • It allows the camera user t o easily check the wa y a picture is being exposed.

Recording pictur es (advanced) 61 T aking Pictures using Spot Mode When using Spot mode the size of the area used to calculate the f ocus and exposure is de creased. It is useful when y ou may be shooting through a group of people and want t o designate where in the g roup the camera will calculate t he exposure.

T he ISO setting can be increased when you need to t ake pictures in places where a f lash may not be allowed. The over all picture quality will decrease slightly as the I SO setting is increased.

DPOF also allows the user to set how many copies of each picture will be printed.
