EN 6 En 1. Prep aration s Check the contents of the package Check tha t all a ccessories are in the box. Contact your dealer if accessories are missing or damaged. EN 7 En Names of the parts Note: Case op eration pa rts marked by * corresp onds to the operation parts of t he digita l camera. Wh en the operation parts of t he Case are operated, the corresponding functio ns of the digital camer a will operate. For details o f the functio ns, refer to the in struction m anual for t he digital camera.
EN 8 En Install the Waterpr oof Port To enable the Case to be us ed underwater, the separa tely available Water proof Port for the camera lens must be installed on the Case. Align the Waterproo f Port wit h the position where the came ra lens will be when the camera is loaded in the Cas e.
EN 9 En How to attach and detach the camera table The camera table insi de the front lid of the Cas e is used to load the digita l ca mera into the Case. How to det ach the cam era table How to atta ch the came ra table 1 Slide and hold the Cas e’s slide lock and open the ope n/ close dia l, then open the rea r lid.

EN 11 En 3. How to connect the electron ic flash Connecting the underwater opti cal fiber cable To connect the UFL-2 u nderwater flas h (optional) t o the Case usin g an underwater optical f iber cable (optional), follow the procedures bel ow.
EN 12 En When using the TT L cable When connecti ng the optional elect ronic flash with the underwat er TTL cable (optional: PT CB-E01), connect the hot shoe ca ble (optional: PHCB-01) t o the camera and front cov er of the Case.
EN 13 En Setting of th e digital ca mera 1 Set the au tomatic pop-u p s ett ing of the camera to OFF. The c amera’s built-in fla sh is designed to po p up automat ically when shoot ing under low light or a gainst the sun in a ny scene mode othe r than the AUTO or und erwater modes.

EN 15 En Open the Case 1 Slide and hold the slide lock to wards the arrow direct ion ( 1 ) and turn the ope n/close dial coun ter clockwise ( 2 ). 2 Turn the open/c lose dial to the position where it cannot be turned further. 3 Open the rea r lid of the Case gentl y.
EN 16 En Insert the digit al camera in the Case 1 Pull out t he zoom dial and mode dial on the Case (pulling out the mode dial also pulls up t he power switch lever) s o that they do not get in the way while load ing the digital camera. At this time, set the orie ntation of the power switch lever as shown below.
EN 17 En 4 Inse rt the sil ica gel Before s ealing the Case, be su re to insert the sil ic a gel bag in th e space between the bottom of the camera table and the inner s urface of the Case. This will prevent f ogging. Inset the silica gel bag laterally with the sides folde d down.
EN 18 En Seal the Case Check the operat ion of the loaded camera After sea ling the Case, check that the camera functions normally. • Operate the power s witch lever on the Case and conf irm that the camera can be t urned ON/OFF. • Turn the mode dia l knob on t he Case and confirm that th e camera mod e switc hes properly.
EN 19 En Water Leakage Test The fina l test after l oading the c a mera i s explained below. Always perform this tes t. It can be performed easily in a wate r tank or a bathtub. EN 20 En 5. Handli ng After Shoot ing Wipe off any waterdrop After under water shooting, remo ve any dr ops of water from the case. Use pr essurized air or a soft, lint - free clot h to carefully wi pe away any mo isture from th e hinge between the front and rear lids, the s hutter release l ever, the h andgrip and the open/close dial.
EN 21 En Dry the Case After wash ing with pure water, use a lint-fr ee soft cloth without any salt on it to wipe off any waterd rop and dry the Case complet ely at a well ventilated loca tion in the shade.
EN 22 En 6. Maintai ning the Waterproof Funct ion The O-ring is a consumable product. Bef o re e ach use, perfo rm proper maint enance. Always be sure to perform the O- ring maintenance opera tion as described below. N eglec ting this maintenanc e may become the caus e of water leakage.
EN 23 En How to Apply Grease to the O-ri ng 1 Apply on ly Olympus exclusive lubr icant to each O-ring. Make sure that your fingers a nd the O- ring are free of di rt, and s queeze ab out 5 mm of lubricant onto a fi nger. (5 mm is the most appropri ate amount .
EN 24 En Replace consumable products • The O-ring is a cons umable product. Inde pendent of the number of times the Case is used, it is recommend ed that the O-ring should be replace d by a new p iece at leas t once a y ear. • Deteriora tion of the O-ring is accelerat ed by th e usag e conditions and the storage c onditions.

EN 26 En Waterproof Po rt When the waterpro of port is used in co mbinatio n with a PT-E06 , the maximum depth that th e combination can be used at is 40 m, as specifie d for the water proof port . This is true even when the PT-E06 is specified for use at dept hs up to 60 m.
