Introduction > 13 When the rear paper stacker is folded do wn pa per exits the printer through the rear of the printer and is stacked here face up. This is mainly used for heavy pr int media. When used in conjunction with the multi purpose feed tray, the paper path th rough the printer is essentially straight.

Paper recommendations > 15 C ASSETTE TRAYS If you have identical paper stock loaded in anot her tray (2nd or 3rd tray if you have one, or multi purpose tray) you can se t the printer to automatically sw itch to the other tray when the current tray runs out of paper.

Maintenance > 51 6. Gently shake the new cart ridge from end to end several t imes to loosen and distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge. 7. Remo ve the wrapping material and peel of f the adhesive tape from the underside of the cartridge.
Maintenance > 52 11. Gently wipe the LED head surface with a clean, lint free cloth. 12. Finally , close the top cover and press down fi rmly at both sides so that the cove r latches closed. I MAGE DRUM REPLACEMENT The printer contains four image drum s: cyan, m agenta, yellow and black.

Maintenance > 54 6. Lift the right -hand end of the toner cartridge (1) and t hen draw the cartridge to the right to release the left -hand end as shown (2), and withdr aw the toner cartridge out of the image drum cartridge. Place the cartridge on a piece of paper to a void marking your furniture.
Maintenance > 55 10. Holding the complete assembly by its top ce ntre, lower it into place in the printer , locating the pegs at each end into their slots in the sides of the printer cavity . 11. Finally , close the top cover and press down fi rmly at both sides so that the cove r latches closed.

Installing upgrades > 62 M EMORY UPGRADE The basic printer model comes equip ped with 256MB of main memory. This can be upgraded with an additional memory boar d of 256MB or 512MB, giving a maximum total memory capacity of 768MB. 1. Switch the printer off and di sconnect the AC power cable.
