Connecting the components 29 Figure 5: Release the IP Phone 1140E from the stand Use the following steps to connect the compon en ts of your phone. 1. Remove the stan d cover. Pull upward o n the ce nter catc h as indicated in Figure 6 on page 30, and re move the stand cover.
Connecting t he com ponents 30 Figure 6: Remove the stand cover 2. Connect the AC power a dapter (optional). Connect the adapter to the AC adapter j ack in the bottom of the phon e. Form a sma ll bend in the cable, and then thread the adapter cord thro ug h the channels in the stand.
Connecting the components 31 over the CA T5e cable, the LAN must support Power over Ethernet, and an AC adapter is not r equired. Note 2: Y ou must use CA T5e (or later) cables if you want to use gigabit Etherne t. 3. Install the ha ndset. Co nnect th e end of the han dset cable with th e short straight section into the handset.

To choo se a language, press t he Services key, select Telephone Options , and select Language… This language se tting controls the la nguage used by features on you r phone only.

To configure Live Dialpad , press the Services key, select Telephone Options , and select Live Dialpad.

If you are working in Edit mode, the firs t field of the item is hig hlighted and a blinking cursor is to the righ t of the cu rrent edit positio n. Configuring Local Menu options 61 Enabling USB Headset The wireless USB headset suppor t included in UNIStim firmware release 3.1 for IP Phones is the Jabra GN9330 E USB4 and the Plantronics CS50- USB and CS60-USB. The Plantronics CS50-USB utilizes 900MHz wireless technology whereas the Plantronics CS60- USB and Jabra GN9330E USB utilize 1.

Making a call 86 T o make a call using the Personal Directory: Making a call usin g the Callers List The Callers List feature au tomatica lly stores up to a maxim um of 100 callers. After 100 calle rs have been stor ed, each additional caller overwrites the oldest entry.
Making a call 87 Making a call using the Redial List The Redial List feature automa tically stores a maxim um of 20 previously dialed phone numbe rs. To use the Redial List, press the Directory key and select Redi al Lis t . For information on how to configure a nd use the Redial List, refer to “Using the Redial List ” on page 139.

T o cont act the attendant while on a call: Using Call Park Use the Call Park feature to hold temporarily (pa rk) and retrieve a call from any IP Phone.
While on an a ctive call 100 T o park a call on the Sy stem Park DN or you r own DN: T o park a call on a DN other than the Syste m Park DN or you r own DN: T o park a call using the SPRE code or FF C: During an active call, press the Par k soft key twice.
