14 Chapter 2: Installation This is a Micro A TX form factor (8.9" x 6.8", 22.6 x 17.3 cm) motherboard. Before you install the motherboard, study the con fi guration of your chassis to ensure that the motherboard fi ts into it. Make sure to unplug the power cord before installing or removing the motherboard.
15 2.3 CPU Installation For the installation of Intel 1 155-Pin CPU, please follow the steps below . Before you insert the 1 155-Pin CPU into the socket, please check if the CPU surface is unclean or if there is any bent pin on the socket. Do not force to insert the CPU into the socket if above situation is found.

17 2.4 Installation of CPU Fan and Heatsink This motherboard is equipped with 1 155-Pin socket that supports Intel 1 155-Pin CPU. Please adopt the type of heatsink and cooling fan compliant with Intel 1 155- Pin CPU to dissipate heat.
18 2.5 Installation of Memor y Modules (DIMM) This motherboard provides two 240-pin DDR3 (Double Data Rate 3) DIMM slots, and supports Dual Channel Memory T echnology .
19 2.6 Expansion Slots (PCI Express Slots) There are 2 PCI Express slots on this motherboard. PCIE slots: PCIE1 (PCIE 3.0 x16 slot; Blue) is used for PCI Express x16 lane width graphics cards. PCIE2 (PCIE 2.0 x1 slot; White) is used for PCI Express cards with x1 lane width cards, such as Gigabit LAN card, SA T A2 card, etc.
20 2. If you have installed onboard VGA driver from our support CD to your system already , you can freely enjoy the bene fi ts of dual monitor function after your system boots. If you haven’t installed onboard VGA driver yet, please install onboard VGA driver from our support CD to your system and restart your computer .
21 Surround Display Feature This motherboard supports surround display upgrade. With the internal VGA output support (DVI-D and D-Sub) and external add-on PCI Express VGA cards, you can easily enjoy the bene fi ts of surround display feature. Please refer to the following steps to set up a surround display environment: 1.

23 2.8 Jumpers Setup The illustration shows how jumpers are setup. When the jumper cap is placed on pins, the jumper is “Short”. If no jumper cap is placed on pins, the jumper is “Open”. The illustration shows a 3-pin jumper whose pin1 and pin2 are “Short” when jumper cap is placed on these 2 pins.
24 2.9 Onboard Headers and Connectors Onboard headers and connectors are NOT jumpers. Do NOT place jumper caps over these headers and connectors. 28 2.10 Serial A T A (SA T A) / Serial A T AII (SA T AII) Hard Disks Installation This motherboard adopts Intel ® H61 chipset that supports Serial A T A (SA T A) / Serial A T AII (SA T AII) hard disks. Y ou may install SA T A / SA T AII hard disks on this mother- board for internal storage devices.
29 Caution 1. Without SA T A 15-pin power connector interface, the SA T A / SA T AII Hot Plug cannot be processed. 2. Even some SA T A / SA T AII HDDs provide both SA T A 15-pin power connector and ID.
30 How to Hot Plug a SA T A / SA T AII HDD: Points of attention, before you process the Hot Plug: Please do follow below instruction sequence to process the Hot Plug, improper procedure will cause the SA T A / SA T AII HDD damage and data loss. Connect SA T A data cable to the motherboard’s SA T AII connector.
31 2.13 Driver Installation Guide T o install the drivers to your system, please insert the support CD to your optical drive fi rst. Then, the drivers compatible to your system can be auto-detected and listed on the support CD driver page. Please follow the order from up to bottom side to install those required drivers.
32 2.14.2 Installing Windows ® 7 / 7 64-bit / Vista TM / Vista TM 64-bit Without RAID Functions If you want to install Windows ® 7 / 7 64-bit / Vista TM / Vista TM 64-bit OS on your SA T A / SA T AII HDDs without RAID functions, please follow below steps.

40 3.4.1 CPU Configuration Intel Hyper Threading T echnology T o enable this feature, a computer system with an Intel processor that sup- ports Hyper-Threading technology and an operating system that includes optimization for this technology , such as Microsoft ® Windows ® XP / V ista TM / 7 is required.

47 3.4.7 Super IO Configuration Serial Port Use this item to enable or disable the onboard serial port. Port Address Use this item to set the address for the onboard serial port. Con fi guration options: [3F8 / IRQ4] and [3E8 / IRQ4]. Parallel Port Use this item to enable or disable the onboard parallel port.
48 3.4.8 ACPI Configuration Suspend to RAM Use this item to select whether to auto-detect or disable the Suspend-to- RAM feature. Selecting [Auto] will enable this feature if the OS supports it. Check Ready Bit Use this item to enable or disable the feature Check Ready Bit.
49 3.4.9 USB Configuration USB 2.0 Controller Use this item to enable or disable the use of USB 2.0 controller . Legacy USB Support Use this option to select legacy support for USB devices. There are four con fi guration options: [Enabled], [Auto], [Disabled] and [UEFI Setup Only].
50 3.5 Hardware Health Event Monitoring Screen In this section, it allows you to monitor the status of the hardware on your system, including the parameters of the CPU temperature, motherboard temperature, CPU fan speed, chassis fan speed, and the critical voltage.
51 3.6 Boot Screen In this section, it will display the available devices on your system for you to con fi g- ure the boot settings and the boot priority . Setup Prompt Timeout This shows the number of seconds to wait for setup activation key . 65535(0XFFFF) means inde fi nite waiting.
52 3.7 Security Screen In this section, you may set or change the supervisor/user password for the system. For the user password, you may also clear it.
53 3.8 Exit Screen Save Changes and Exit When you select this option, the following message “Save con fi guration changes and exit setup?” will pop-out.
54 Chapter 4: Sof tware Support 4.1 Install Operating System This motherboard supports various Microsoft ® Windows ® operating systems: 7 / 7 64-bit / Vista TM / Vista TM 64-bit / XP / XP 64-bit. Because motherboard settings and hardware options vary , use the setup procedures in this chapter for general refer- ence only .
55 Installing OS on a HDD L arger Than 2TB This motherboard is adopting UEFI BIOS that allows Windows ® OS to be installed on a large size HDD (>2TB). Please follow below procedure to install the operating system. 1. Please make sure to use Windows ® Vista TM 64-bit (with SP1 or above) or Windows ® 7 64-bit .
