The first time (and only the fir st time) you switch on your set, you see an installation introduction screen. The installation procedure consists of a series of screens that guide you through the process . & After an introduction screen, you are ask ed to select a language of the TV’s on-screen-menus.

4 Note: For most k eys pressing a key once will activ ate the function. Pressing a second time will de-activ ate it. When a key enables multiple options, a small list will be shown. Press repeatedly to select the next item in the list. The list will be removed automatically after 6 seconds or press OK to remove immediately .

6 The Bro wse screen (and the underlying Multimedia content br owser) is intended to contain all content, applications you ar e interested to consume. If you want to connect y our TV to a PC or home netw ork, see the supplied separate Connected Planet guide for further explanation of this functionality .
7 The Demo menu allo ws the user to get an idea of the features that are part of the television. & Select Demo in the Settings menu and pr ess the cursor right. é Highlight a desired demo with cursor up/do wn. “ Press OK to start playing the highlighted demo .
8 It is possible that the cable company or the TV channel displays a broadcast selection menu. Layout and items are defined by the cable company or the TV channel. Mak e your choice with the cursor and press the OK ke y . Searching for and storing TV channels is done channel by channel.
9 Reshuffle/Rename channels Y ou can change the order of the stored TV channels. It is also possible to change the name stored in the memory or to assign a name to a TV channel or external for which a name has not yet been entered. A name with up to 5 letters or numbers can be giv en to the programme n umber 0 to 99 and to the externals.
10 Network installation See the supplied separate Connected Planet guide for further explanation of this functionality . Software upgrade This menu allows y ou to upgrade your TV softwar e using a USB device or Memor y Car d device.
11 This menu is used to contr ol the settings of special TV functions, features and peripheral equipment. The Pr eferences menu allows y ou to change settings that will typically be accessed only occasionally . The Sour ce menu allows you to select a sour ce .
12 Menu pr efer ences OSD & Select OSD . é Press the cursor right to select Normal or Minimum . Normal to activate the continuous displa y of the channel number (for 10 minutes) and extended displa y of TV channel and pr ogramme information on screen.
13 Decoder If a decoder or a descrambler is connected, see p. 24, you can define one or more channel n umbers as decoder channel numbers. & Select Decoder in the Setup menu. é Press the cursor right to select Channel . “ Select the channel number under which y ou ha ve stored the pr ogramme coming from y our decoder .
14 Press the MENU ke y on the remote contr ol to summon the Settings menu. The TV menu gives you an o ver view of the men us you can select. Note: Depending on the input signal, one or more menu items may not be selectable. Picture men u Note: Some menu items are not av ailable in case of HD sources.
15 Digital options Pix el Plus 2 is the most ideal setting, as it fully processes the image to mak e ev er y single pixel the best it can be, improving contrast, sharpness, picture depth, and colour reproduction and brilliance fr om every source, including High Definition.
16 Sound menu & Select Sound in the TV Settings menu. é Press the cursor right to enter the sound men u. “ Select the menu items with cursor up/down. ‘ Press the cursor right. ( Adjust the settings with cursor k eys. Remember , control settings ar e at normal mid-range levels when the bar scale is entered.

18 Smart colour modes: • P ersonal : Select any colour or hue to match to y our personal taste, e .g. your interior , the programme content (sports, movie, etc.), the mood you ar e in, etc. • W arm white : The colour is matched to that of most normal lightbulbs.
19 The Multimedia bro wser lets you displa y pictures and/or movies or pla y audio files stored on a USB de vice or a memor y card. The Multimedia bro wser application is invok ed from the Br owse menu (press the = ke y) by selecting a device and pr essing the cursor right.

21 Most TV channels broadcast information via teletext. This TV has a 1200 pages memor y that will stor e most broadcasted pages and subpages to reduce waiting time. After each programme change, the memory is refr eshed. Switch T eletext on and off Press b to switch the teletext on.
22 Camera, Camcorder , Game & Connect your camera, camcorder or game as shown. é Connect to VIDEO 2 and A UDIO L 3 f or mono equipment. F or ster eo equipment also connect A UDIO R 3 . S-VHS quality with an S-VHS camcorder is obtained by connecting the S- VHS cables with the S-VIDEO input 1 and A UDIO inputs 3 .
23 There is a wide range of audio and video equipment that can be connected to y our TV . The following connection diagrams sho w you ho w to connect them.
24 Note: Do not place your recorder too close to the screen as some recorders may be susceptible for signals from the display . Keep a minimum distance of 0,5 m from the screen. Connect the aerial cables 1 , 2 and, to obtain the optimum picture quality , eurocable 3 as shown.

32 Y our TV r emote control gives y ou the oppor tunity to contr ol all your peripheral equipments with one single r emote control. This can be done by selecting the corr ect brand and type out of the list of Direct Entr y codes for peripheral equipments.

34 Y our TV r emote control supports a learnable function which makes it possible to r ead out codes coming from another r emote control from equipment fr om another brand. This mak es it possible to use only one r emote control to contr ol all your other connected peripheral equipment.

- Use the colour k eys on the r emote control to perform the corr esponding function mentioned at the bottom of the screen. -P r ess an y colour key or the i ke y to mak e the function bar at the bottom of the screen visible again.
8 To av oid implementation problems we r ecommend using a Wireless Access Point de vice (e .g. Philips CPWBS054) in combination with a wireless Ethernet bridge (also called a “Game adapter”). Wireless de vices use a wireless protocol to communicate by means of radio wa ves.
9 Configuring a wireless Ethernet bridg e Mak e sure DHCP/Auto IP (automatic netw ork addr essing) is enabled on ALL your netw ork devices (Wireless Access P oint, PCs). Note: Now adays the functionality of a W ireless Access P oint and a router are mostly combined into one box.
10 Configuring the wireless Ethernet bridge & Disconnect your PC fr om your network. • In case of a wireless USB dongle, remov e the dongle from y our PC . • In case of an integrated wireless netw ork adapter (e.g. laptop PC), disable the network adapter .

12 DO • Viruses, spywar e and other malicious programs can undermine the security of your netw ork. Use the a ppr opriate software to pr otect your PC fr om these threats. • Change the default passw ords for y our network devices. Lea ving these at default makes it easy for an outsider to gain access.

17 Annex 5 : Supported file formats A codec (encoder/decoder) is a technology for compressing and decompr essing data. Codecs convert digital signals to and from analog, and can be implemented in software, hardware, or a combination of both. Standard codecs are used to encode and compress audio and video data f or streaming acr oss networks.

20 Prob lem The Installation CD will not start. The software will not install. My PC is not detected in the Bro wse menu. ( Media servers is display ed) I can’ t see the files on my PC. No wireless connection or intermittent drop-out of the wireless connection.
