Using the MIDI Functi ons 1 . Connecting the key board to other MIDI instruments: To transmit MIDI data from y our key board to other professional MID I i nstruments, please purchase a M IDI cable and use it to connect the MIDI OUT jack of y our Miditech i2-61 Black Edition to the MIDI IN jack o f the other instrument.
Using the Midi-Interface The Miditech i2-61 Black Edition Key board has a build in midi-interface; witch transfers the midi data from the key board to the computer, but also from the computer to the MIDI Out at the key board. The both MID I Outs are separate usable, to control a sound expa nder or may be an effect device.
Default Setting of the Miditech i2-61 Black Edition The Miditech i2-61 Black Edition will alway s select the following values fo r their parameters when the power is turned on.
Overall Diagr am Previ ew Operation panel: 1.Power Sw itch 2. Pitch Be nd Wheel The Pitch Bend wheel is used for r aising or lowering t he pitch of a voice during perform ance. The range of pitch values depends on the sound genera tor (sound card or m odule) being used.
3. Modulation Wheel It is ve ry common to use the modulation wheel to change the intensity of effect s: mainly Vibrato( pitch change ), Tremolo (change t he volume), and Modulation (change the tone). The Modulat ion wheel produces a vibrato effect shortl y aft er the sound is generated.
8. Transposer Group Pressing the MI DI/S ELECT button and the TRANSPOSE Key y ou increase or decre ase the notes by halftones. If y ou want to transpose by 3 semitones: Press the MIDI /SELE CT button and the ”#” key , (in the display y ou see 3 for three sem itones) than press MIDI /SELE CT to finish the change.
Program key Pressing MI DI/S ELECT button and the Progr am key , then numeric key s then enter key , y ou can select any patch number between 1 to 128. For example, if y ou want to change voice to 67 (Tenor Sax): Press MID I/SELECT button and 67 on nume ric key s, then enter key and MID I/SEL ECT button again to finish this action.
Rear Panel Sustain jack This jack allows y ou to connect an optional Sustain Footswitch to the key board. MIDI OUT jac ks This standard MID I jacks is used to send MIDI messages to another M IDI instru ment (such as sound module).
Trouble Shooti ng If anything doesn’t w ork . . . please check following poi nts: Midi connection fault . . . do y ou have installed y our midi drivers from y our soundcard ? Look at START --> Settings --> Sy stemcontrol --> Multimedia --> Tab Midi for installed Drivers.
USB doesn’t work . . . Is powerswitch on power-on positi on? Are y ou sure that the computer found the key board or an unknown USB-Device? In the first case ever yt hing is Ok. In the se cond case there is a problem of the Hard ware of the key board.
Admi n or Userm ode . . . Are y ou Admin or User on this computer sy stem? In User mode are some restrictions for USB devices, so many devices do not work in this mode. Power supply does not work . . . If the unit isn’t powered by power-supply , try to connect by USB-Connection.
