4 2 Introduction This product is a digital imaging device with an integrated digital camera, digi tal video recorder, digital audio recorde r and PC camera . It allows y ou to take digital photograph s and videos, ma ke voice re cordings or use it as a w ebcam.
5 3 Getting started 3.1 Parts of y our camera Familiarise y ourself with the parts of y our camera before u se. That make s it easier to operate the camera.
6 3.2 Inserting the batteries Use tw o AAA (micro) batte ries. 1 Push the cover of t he battery compartment in the direction indi cated to open the com- partment. 2 Open the cov er of the ba ttery compartment. 3 Insert the b atteries into the ba ttery compartment and e nsure that the po larity is correct.
7 3.3 Inserting and remov ing the SD/MMC card You can use SD or MMC card s to in crease the memory capacity . Switch of f the c amera before inser ting the card. Inser t the car d as follow s (photographs, sound a nd video recordings are no longer stored in the internal memory , but sto red on th e card).
8 4 Basic operation 4.1 Sw itching the camera on and off Switching the cam era on Press the On/Off button for 1-2 seconds to switch the came ra on. If the camera is not switched on, c heck the polarity of the batteries and ensure that they are charged.
9 4.2 Using the mode buttons The camera fea tures five opera ting modes. When the camera i s switched on ,If USB is disconnected , it i s automatically in still phot ograph mode.

11 4.3.2 Snapshot Press the On/O ff butto n to switch the cam era on. 1 Select single shot mode When the camera is switched on, it is automa- tically in still photograph mode . If this i s not the case, press the mode button to select the photogr aphy mode.
12 When you press th e menu button in photogr aphy mode, the following menu functions are available for selection: Page1: • Capture Mode • Strobe • Resolution • Photo Quality • Photo Effect .
13 4.4 Recording audio 1 Press the button to activate the digital recording function. The symbol i s shown on the LCD. Before recording, the infor mation show n at right i s display ed. Press the shutter release on ce to star t sound recording. 2 The information sh own here is display ed when rec ordin g was started us ing t he shut ter r eleas e.
14 4.5 Making video cli ps 4.5.1 LCD descriptions The elapsed time is show n at the to p right. The remaining time is show n at th e bottom left. The dis play is not chan ged during recor ding and i s not updated until reco rding is complete. 4.5.2 Making a video clip Switch the camera on.

16 Thumbnail view While playing pho tos, videos a nd sound re cordings, y ou can open the thumb nail view by pressing the confirm button ( OK button). This mod e allows y ou to view several pho tos, videos or sound re cordings at once. Use the co ntrol buttons , , and to sele ct a file and press OK to play the file.
17 4.7 Deleting photos You can dele te unrequired pho tos. Either single photos or all photos can be deleted. To do so, you must b e in play back mode. Deleting a single photo Select the pho to to be deleted in play back mode. Then pr ess the menu button and select “Delete” and “Curren t” to erase the photo.
18 5 Advanced operation 5.1 Using the flash If there is no t enough av ailable light for y our photo, th e built-in flash can prov ide the additional light requ ired. 1 Switch the camera on and sele ct the phot o mode (single shot or self-timer mode).
19 5.3 Changing menu opti ons The camera features image, playback and con figuration menus. 1 Press the menu button to select Photo graphy and Playback menus from th e photography , playback mode .

22 5.5 Exposure compen sation By correcting the exposure v alue (EV), you ca n adjust images w hich appear too light or too dark. 1 Selecting the image mode Press the menu button in photog raphy mode. 2 Selecting EV Select the EV item in the menu and press OK to op en the exposure option .
23 2 Press or to se lect the “Resol ution” option and pre ss OK to confirm. 3 You can sel ect one of six resolution settings: 12 megapixels, 5.0 megapixels, 4.0 me gapixels , 3.0 mega pixels, 2.0 mega pixels and 0.5 megapixels. At the 12 megapix el setti ngs, pixels are interpolated – no image bursts can be captured in these resolu tions.
24 Sepia: Brown/amber simu lates the bro wn tone of o ld photos caused by oxidation of the chemical comp onents of the pho tograph. Sepi a shifts the brown tones of the digital image to the dark brow n range to give the impression of an old photo. 5.10 Setting the driver The default driver setti ng is DSC.

26 The dat e and time can only be displ ayed by the camera i n playbac k mode. They cannot be p rinted. The time settings are sav ed by an i nternal backup b attery. T herefore, the time setting s are not los t when the t wo replacea ble AAA batte ries are re moved.

28 2. Select “Search for the be st driver for your dev ice” and click “Nex t”. 3. Select “Specify a locati on” and cli ck “Brow se”. Specify the driver CD in y our drive. 4. Now click “Nex t”. The system in stalls the driver and the following w indow appears: 5.
29 6.2.2 Installing the dri ver in Web Cam mode 1. Connect the camera to the comp u ter. The sy stem should automatica lly recognise that a new dev ice has been conne cted. 2. In Web Cam mode, the driver must be insta lled for all systems. T he procedure is similar to that d escribed fo r DSC mode .
30 Either of two driver modes can be selected for the camera . Web Cam mode u ses the v ideo components for th e PC (WebCam) . In DSC mode, the i nternal memory is used as mobile memory. It ca n be trea ted like a hard drive. Y ou can copy , delete, cut and dow nload photos and v ideos from the camera.
31 7 Transferring files to y our PC After y ou install the drivers, y ou can transfer y our photos, v ideos and sound recordings to the PC using the USB cable, and v iew, play and edi t them on y our PC. The camera switche s to USB m ode. 1 Switch y our PC on.

34 10 Troubleshooting If your camera does not w ork properly, plea se che ck the follow ing items. If the problem still exists plea se contact your dealer.
