12 WAR N I N G : Alw ay s s top unit and dis- connec t s park plug before removing or instal- ling attachments . REMOVING TRIMMER A TT ACH- MENT (OR OTHER OPTIONAL A T- TA C H M E N T S ) CAUTION: When removing or installing at- tachment s, place the unit on a flat s urfac e for stability.
13 Alway s tap the trimmer head on a gras s y area. T apping on s urfac es s uch as c onc rete or as phalt c an c ause ex ces s ive w ear to the trimmer head. If the line is worn down to 2 inches (5 cm) or less , more than one tap will be required to ob- tain the most ef ficient line length.

15 SERVIC E AND ADJUSTMENTS REPLACING THE LINE 1. Pres s the t abs on t he side of the trimmer head and remove c over and spool. Ta b Ta b Cove r Spool 2. Remove any remaining line. 3. Clean dirt and debr is from all par ts. Re- place s pool if it is w orn or damaged.

P ush until c over s naps into place. REPLACING THE TRIMMER HEAD 1. Hold the dus t c up with a w renc h to keep the shaft from tur ning while remov ing and installing tr immer head.
