5 9. Before using the tool on an actual w ork- piece, let it run for a while. W atch f or vibration or wobb ling that could indicate improperl y installed bit. 10. Be careful of the bit rotating direction and the feed direction. 11 . Do not leave the tool running.
6 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is s witched off and unplugged bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Adjusting bit protrusion T o adjust the bit protrusion, loosen the lev er and mov e the tool base up or down as desired b y tur ning the adjusting roller .
7 NO TE: • Use a dr y cloth to wipe the dir t off the lens of light. Be careful not to scratch the lens of light, or it ma y lower the illumination. ASSEMBL Y CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is s witched off and unplugged bef ore carr ying out any work on the tool.
8 NO TE: • Moving the tool f orward too f ast may cause a poor quality of cut, or damage to the bit or motor . Moving the tool f orward too slowly ma y burn and mar the cut. The proper f eed rate will depend on the bit size, the kind of workpiece and depth of cut.
9 Loosen the screws and remo ve the base protector . Place the templet guide on the base and replace the base protector . Then secure the base protector by tightening the scre ws. Secure the templet to the workpiece. Place the tool on the templet and mov e the tool with the templet guide sliding along the side of the templet.
10 Attach the guide plate to the straight guide with the bolt, the wa ve w asher , the flat washer and the wing n ut. Attach the straight guide with the clamp scre w (A). Loosen the wing nut on the straight guide and adjust the distance between the bit and the straight guide .
11 F or cutting circles between 70 mm (2-3/4 ” ) and 121 mm (4-3/4 ” ) in radius . F or cutting circles between 121 mm (4-3/4 ” ) and 221 mm (8-11/16 ” ) in radius . NO TE: Circles between 172 mm (6-3/4 ” ) and 186 mm (7-5/16 ” ) in radius cannot be cut using this guide.
12 T rimmer guide T rimming, cur ved cuts in v eneers f or furniture and the like can be done easily with the trimmer guide. The guide roller rides the cur ve and assures a fine cut. Install the trimmer guide on the tool base with the clamp screw (A).
13 Replacing carbon brushes Remov e and check the carbon brushes regularl y . Replace when they w ear down to the limit mark. Keep the carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders. Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time. Use only iden- tical carbon brushes.
