Chapter 1 Produc t Over view 1 Media Hub Chapter 1: Pr o duc t Over view Thank you for choosing the Linksys by Cisco Media Hub. One S erial-A T A (SA T A) hard disk is pr e -installed, and a second SA T A hard driv e bay is available if you want to add more storage space.
Chapter 1 Produc t Over view 2 Media Hub Chapter 1 Produc t Over view 2 Media Hub Front P anel of the Media Hub (NMH300 Series) DISK 1 (Blue/Red) The DISK 1 LED ser ves two purposes. The LED is solidly lit blue when Disk 1 is ready for use. The LED is not lit when no disk is detected.
Chapter 1 Produc t Over view 3 Media Hub Security Slot The security slot is where you can attach a lock t o protect the Media Hub from theft. USB The USB por t connects to a USB storage device. Ethernet The 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port connects to an Ethernet network device, such as a router or switch.
Chapter 1 Produc t Over view 4 Media Hub T o replace a hard disk, follow these instructions: T o shut down the Media Hub, press and hold the Po wer 1. button until the P ower LED star ts flashing. If this step does not shut down the M edia Hub , then proceed to st ep 2.

Chapter 4 Use of the Media Bro wser 23 Media Hub Videos > Recent (Thumbnail V iew) When you are viewing any video categor y , selec t the video file you want. Play T o play a video , click the Play button. NO TE: The M edia Hub plays video content through a browser plug-in.
Chapter 4 Use of the Media Bro wser 24 Media Hub Recent The files with the most recen t file dates are displa yed. Videos > Recent (Thumbnail V iew) Thumbnail View Each video displays its title , duration, and size . Play T o play a video , click the Play button.
Chapter 4 Use of the Media Bro wser 25 Media Hub Delete File Select a file, and then click this option. On the Delete screen, click Y es to delete the file . Delete File Cop y File S elect a file, and then click this option. On the Copy File(s) screen, selec t the location for the copy , and then click Submit .

( Y our computer must be pow ered on for the jobs to run.) PC Backup After the Media Hub sends the back up message to your computer , click OK to return to the Backup menu.
Chapter 5 Use of the L CD Menu 29 Media Hub Pr ess the left arrow to return to the Status menu. Network Selec t this option to view the status of the Internet connection, status of the Local Area Network (LAN) connection, and local IP address of the Media Hub.

Chapter 6 File Backup 31 Media Hub Chapter 6: F ile Backup Over view This chapter describes how to back up files to the Media Hub. NTI Shadow is the backup tool you installed during the Setup Wizard. Y ou can initia te on-demand backup jobs or set up automatic backup jobs to automatically copy your documents to the Media Hub f or safekeeping .
