F eatures of Y our Sprint PCS Vision Phone Congr atulations on the pur chase of your Sprint PCS Vision Picture Phone. The PM-325 by L G is lightweight, easy -to-use, and reliable, and it also of fers man y significant featur es and ser vice options.
T urning Y our Phone On and Of f T urning Y our Phone On T o turn your phone on: 䊳 Press and hold for appr oximately two sec onds. Once your phone is On, it displays “Sear ching for Service” which indicates tha t your phone is searching f or a signal.
Using Y our Phone’ s Battery and Char ger Battery C apacity Y our Sprint PCS V ision Phone is equipped with a Lithium Ion (LiIon) battery . It allows you to r echarge your ba ttery befor e it is fully drained. The battery pro vides up to 3.2 hours of continuous digital talk time.
T o install the LiIon battery : 1. Insert the battery (label side f acing up) into the cavity a t a 45-degree angle. (The metal contacts must be aligned with and touching the metal prongs.) 2. Press down on the ba ttery until it snaps into place. Remo ving the Battery T o remov e your battery : 1.
Charging the Battery Y our Sprint PCS V ision Phone’ s LiIon battery is rechargeable and should be charged as soon as possible so y ou can begin using your phone.

Y ou can also place calls from your Sprin t PCS Phone by using Sprint PCS V oice Command SM (page 143), dialing fr om the Contacts list (page 26), and using your C all History listings (page 63).
Answ ering Calls T o answer an inc oming call: 1. Make sur e your phone is on. (If your phone is of f , incoming calls go to v oicemail.) 2. Press to answer an incoming call. (Depending on y our phone’ s settings, y ou may also answer incoming calls by opening the phone or by pressing an y number ke y .
Missed Call Notifica tion When an incoming call is not answered, the Missed C all log is display ed on your scr een. T o display the Missed Call en try: 䊳 Highlight the entry and press .
End-of -Call Options Af ter receiving a call from or making a call to a phone number tha t is not in your C ontacts list, the phone number and the dura tion of the call are displa yed.
Finding a Phone Number Y ou can search Con tac ts entries f or phone numbers that con tain a specific string of numbers. T o find a phone number: 1. Enter one or mor e digits in standby mode. (The more numbers you enter , the more specific the search becomes.
Dialing and Saving Phone Numbers With P auses Y ou can dial or save phone numbers with pauses f or use with automated systems , such as voicemail or credit card billing numbers. There ar e two types of pauses av ailable on your phone: 䢇 Hard P ause sends the next set of numbers when you press .
Dialing Fr om the C ontacts List T o dial directly from a C ontacts entry: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Contacts () . 3. Scroll to F ind/ Add Entry and press . 4. Use your Na vigation ke y to scroll thr ough the Con tacts list, then highlight your desir ed entry .
Entering T ext Selecting a Character Input Mode Y our Sprint PCS V ision Phone provides c onvenient wa ys to enter words , letters, punctuation, and numbers whene ver you ar e prompted to enter te xt (for example, when adding a C ontacts entry or when sending Sprint PCS Mail and SMS T ext messages).
Entering Char ac ters Using T9 T ext Input T9 T ext Input lets you enter te xt in your Sprint PCS Vision Phone by pressing k eys just once per letter . ( T o selec t the T9 W ord mode when entering te xt, see "Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page 27 .
Entering Char ac ters by T apping the K eypad T o enter characters by tapping the ke ypad, selec t the Abc mode (see “Selecting a Character Input Mode” on page 27). Press the corr esponding key r epeatedly until the desir ed character appears. By def ault, the first letter of a word is capitalized and following letters are lower case.

Sound Settings Ringer T ypes Ringer types help you iden tify incoming calls and messages. Y ou can assign ringer types to individual Con tac ts entries , types of calls, and types of messages. 䢇 Preprogr ammed Ringers include a variety of standard ringer types and f amiliar music .
Selecting Ringer T ypes for Messages T o select a ringer type f or messages: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Settings () . 3. Scroll to Sounds and pr ess . 4. Scroll to Alerts and press . 5. Scroll to Message Alerts and press .
Adjusting the Phone’ s V olume Settings Y ou can adjust your phone’ s volume settings to suit your needs and your en vironment . T o adjust the ringer , key beep , or earpiece volume: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Settings () .
Silence All There ma y be times when you need to silence your phone en tirely . The phone’ s Silence All option allows y ou to mute all sounds without turning your phone of f . T o activate Silence All: 䊳 Press and hold the v olume key down in standby mode.
Changing the Backlight Time Length The backlight setting lets you select how long the display screen and ke ypad are backlit after any k ey press is made. T o change the backlight setting: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Settings () .
Changing the Display Scr een for Inc oming Calls Y ou can set the color or downloaded image (screen sa ver) to be shown on the Incoming C alls display . Follow these steps: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Settings () .
Changing the Phone’ s Menu Style Y our Sprint PCS Phone allows you to choose how the menu appears on your displa y screen. T o select the display’ s menu style: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Settings () . 3. Scroll to Displa y and press .

Loca tion Settings Y our Sprint PCS V ision Phone is equipped with a Location f eature f or use in connection with location-based services that may be a vailable in the future. The Loca tion fea ture allows the network to detect your position. T urning Loca tion of f will hide your loca tion from ev eryone ex cept 911.
Airplane Mode Airplane Mode allows y ou to use many of your phone’ s f eatur es, such as Games, Notepad, V oice Memos, etc., when you ar e in an airplane or in any other ar ea where making or r eceiving calls or data is pr ohibited. When your phone is in Airplane Mode, it cannot send or receive an y calls or access online informa tion.
TTY Use With Sprin t PCS Service A TTY (also known as a TDD or T ext T elephone) is a telecommunica tions device tha t allows people who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who have speech or language disabilities, to c ommunicate by telephone. Y our phone is compatible with select TTY de vices.
Phone Setup Options Shor tcuts Y our phone off ers you the option of assigning a shortcut k ey to a f av orite or of ten-used function. Pressing the naviga tion ke y in standby mode will launch your personally designa ted shor tcut . T o assign your shortcut key : 1.
Auto-Answ er Mode Y ou may set your phone to automatically pick up inc oming calls when connected to an optional hands-free car kit. T o set Auto-Answer mode: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu. 2. Select Settings () . 3. Scroll to Setup/ Others and press .

Accessing the Security Menu All of your phone’ s security settings are av ailable through the Security menu. Y ou must enter your lock c ode to view the Security menu. T o access the Security menu: 1. Press Menu (left sof tke y ) to access the main menu.
Locking Pictures T o turn picture lock on or off : 1. Fr om the Security menu, scroll to Lock Pictures and press . 2. Highlight Unlock , Lock now , or On power up , and press . Changing the Lock C ode T o change your lock c ode: 1. Fr om the Security menu, scroll to Change Lock and press .
Using Special Numbers Special numbers are important numbers that you hav e designated as being “alw ays av ailable. ” Y ou can call and receiv e calls from special numbers ev en if your phone is lock ed. Y ou can save 10 special numbers in addition to y our Phone Book entries (the same number may be in both dir ec tories).
R esetting Y our Phone R esetting the phone restor es all the factory def aults, including the ringer types and display settings. The Con tac ts, C all Histor y , Scheduler , and Messaging are not af fected. T o reset your phone: 1. Fr om the Security menu, scroll to Reset Phone and press .
Net Guard The Net Guard option allows y ou to be prompted each time y ou connect to Sprint PCS Vision services. When y ou access V ision, a screen is display ed with the following two choices: 䢇 Con.

Understanding R oaming Rec ognizing Icons on the Display Scr een Y our phone’ s display screen alw ays lets y ou know when you’ re of f the Nationwide Sprin t PCS Network and whether y our phone is opera ting in analog or digital mode. The following chart indicates wha t y ou’ll see depending on where y ou’ re using y our phone.
R oaming on Analog Networks When you r oam on analog networks, y ou will experience a similar quality pro vided by other analog carriers today . Although some f eatures , such as Sprint PCS Vision and Sprin t PCS V oice Command, will be unav ailable, you can still mak e and receive calls and access v oicemail.
Checking for V oicemail Messages While Roaming When you ar e roaming off the Na tionwide Sprint PCS Network, you will not receive on-phone notifica tion of new v oicemail messages.
Setting Y our Phone’ s R oam Mode Y our Sprint PCS V ision Phone allows y ou to contr ol your roaming capabilities. By using the Roaming menu option, y ou can determine which signals your phone accepts. Set Mode Choose from thr ee dif fer ent settings on your dual- band/tri-mode phone to con trol y our roaming e xperience.
Using Call Guar d Y our phone has two ways of alerting you when y ou are roaming of f the Nationwide Sprin t PCS Network: the onscr een roaming ic on and Call Guard. C all Guard mak es it easy to manage your roaming char ges by requiring an e xtra step bef ore y ou can place or answer a roaming call.

Adding a New C ontac ts Entry Y our Sprint PCS V ision Phone can store up to 200 C ontacts entries. Con tac ts entries can stor e up to a total of 600 phone numbers and each entry’ s name can con tain sixteen characters. T o add a new entry from the main menu: 1.
Finding C ontacts Entries There ar e sev eral w ays to display y our entries: by name, by speed dial number , by group , and by voice dial tags. F ollow the steps outlined in the sections below to display entries fr om the menu. Finding Names T o find entries by name: 1.

Assigning Speed Dial Numbers Y our phone can store up to 98 phone numbers in speed dial locations. F or details on how to make calls using speed dial numbers , see “Using One- T ouch/ T wo- T ouch Speed Dialing” on page 26.
Crea ting V oice Dial T ags Y our phone can store up to 30 phone numbers in v oice dial tags. T o record a new v oice dial: 1. Display a C ontacts entry . (See "Finding Con tac ts Entries" on page 67). 2. Scroll to <Edit En try> and press .
Selecting a Ringer T ype for an En try Y ou can assign a ringer type to a C ontacts entry so you can identify the caller by the ringer type. (See “Ringer T ypes” on page 31.) T o select a ringer type f or an entry: 1. Display a C ontacts entry . 2.
Secret Con tac ts Entries Y ou can hide an entry’ s phone number(s) and requir e your lock code to edit the entry by making it secret . The entry name is still displayed, but the entry’ s phone numbers are r eplaced with “(SECR ET)” . T o make an entry secr et: 1.
