INST ALLA TION 17 Displa y Format Setup The HDTV Receiver pro vides sev eral displa y formats. The DISPLA Y FOR- MA T button on the front panel changes the output connector and resolution. The output resolution ma y be conv er ted from the or iginal broadcast format.
18 Menu Overview In this menu system, there are se ver al ways to customiz e the menu settings provided. Most menus consist of three lev els to set up the options, b ut some require greater depth f or the variety of settings. If you press the MENU but- ton, only the first and second le vel of the menu system will appear on the TV screen.
MENU OPERA TION 19 Setup Menu Options EZ Scan (Channel Searc h) A utomatically finds all channels (analog and digital) av ailable through the ‘ANT IN’ source. The unit stores all the active channels f ound, on the channel list. Inactive or w eak channels may not appear on the list.
20 Setup Menu Options (Contin ued) Ch. Edit (Channel Edit) Channel Edit allows y ou to manually add or delete channels from the chan- nel list in memor y and create your o wn surf list of fa vorite channels. Press SURF ( ) on the Remote Control when a channel is highlighted.

22 Option Menu Features Clock Enables the user to set up the cloc k information. Nor mally , y our clock is set using signals transmitted b y DTV stations. Choosing your time z one sets the current time automatically . But if the Ant In jack on the connection panel is connected to a cable service, you m ust set the clock manually .

If the selected language is not av ailable on the current program, the caption language f or the program is not displa yed.

MENU OPERA TION 29 Analog Captions Allows y ou to select a mode for displa ying Analog Caption Data. In the Analog Caption Ser vice, Caption 1-4 displa y program’ s dialog, and T ext 1-4 displa y data ser vice information. ote Analog Captions will appear if they are pro vided by the broadcaster .
30 Loc k (P arental Control) Men u Options Lock System Allows y ou to set up specific channels and ratings through bloc king schemes. Also allows y ou to activate or disab le all of the lock schemes pre viously set up . A password is required to gain access to the LOCK men us.

The Channel Banner appears on the TV screen (Channel number , audio, station name, and current time).
