3 About the Symbol Display “ ” may appear on your TV display during operation and indicates that the function explained in this owner ’s manual is not available on that disc. Regional Codes This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of the unit.
4 Hooking up the unit Antenna connection Connect the T errestrial TV antenna (A) to the ANTENNA IN jack on the unit. If you want to use an indoor antenna, use one with a signal amplifier rated at 5V , 100mA and set [Antenna Feed 5V] to [ON] in the setup menu (See page 11 ) .
5 HDMI Connection Connect the HDMI OUTPUT jack (H) on the unit to the HDMI input jack on an HDMI compatible TV using an HDMI cable (V ersion 1.2). Resolution Setting Y ou can change the resolution for HDMI output. Press RESOLUTION repeated- ly to select the desired resolution - 576i(480i), 576p(480p), 720p, 1080i, 1080p.
6 General about digital broadcast Picture and sound Digital TV is a transmission technology that replaces the traditional analogue technique. This means that several TV channels, radio channels and other digital services can be transmitted on the same space as just one channel took up before.

9 Adjust the Disc playback settings - more you can do When you turn on for the first time (optional) The menu for a language selection will appear when you turn on the unit for the first time. Y ou must select a language to use the unit. Use vV b B to select a language then press ENTER and the confirm menu will appear.
10 DRC (Dynamic Range Control) – Make the sound clear when the volume is turned down (Dolby Digital only). Set to [On] for this effect. V ocal – Set to [On] only when a multi-channel karaoke DVD is playing. The karaoke channels on the disc mix into normal stereo sound.
11 Channel Class – This option allows you to set the favorite channel. Use v v V V select the a channel and press ENTER to set the favorite class on each channel (shows Fav icon on top of the screen). Channel Edit – This option allows you to edit the channels.
12 Parental Guidance – Blocks TV programs that you or your family may not wish to watch, based on the rating scheme set. Select a rating then press ENTER . [3 Y ears] - [18 Y ears]: Rating [3 Y ears] has the most restrictions and rating [18 Y ears] is the least restrictive.
13 Using the digital EPG - more you can do About the digital EPG The digital EPG shows a table of scheduled digital TV programs and detailed information about individual program. The digital EPG screen consists of program information, channel list and general program list.
14 Displaying Disc Information - more you can do Y ou can select an item by pressing vV and change or select the setting by pressing bB or using the numbered buttons (0-9).
15 Pause a playback Press P AUSE/STEP ( X ) to pause playback. Press PLA Y ( N N ) to continue playback. Frame-by-Frame playback Press P AUSE/STEP ( X ) repeatedly to play Frame-by-Frame playback. Playing repeatedly Press REPEA T repeatedly to select an item to be repeated.
16 Playing DivX movie file - more you can do Changing the character set to display DivX subtitle correctly Press and hold SUBTITLE for 3 seconds during playback. The language code will appear . Press bB to select another language code until the subtitle is displayed properly and then press ENTER .
17 Playing an CD-G disc Once you insert an CD-G disc, a menu appears on the screen. Use vV to select a track then press PLA Y ( N N ) . T o display the CD-G menu during playback, press STOP ( x x ) twice. Y ou can display the setup menu by pressing SETUP only when CD-G menu appears on the TV screen.
Recordable mode Y ou can record one desired track or all of the tracks in Audio CD to USB Flash Drive. • For track recording: Press AUDIO in play , pause or resume stop mode. • For disc recording: Press AUDIO in complete stop mode. • For program list recording: In stop mode, press AUDIO after selecting a track on the program list.
19 Notes an USB Flash Drive • Y ou can switch USB and DISC mode by pressing RETURN ( O O ) only in stop mode. • Do not extract the USB Flash Drive in operating. • Regular back up is recommended to prevent data loss. • If you use an USB extension cable or USB HUB, the USB device might not be recognized.
20 Language Codes Use this list to input your desired language for the following initial settings: Disc Audio, Disc Subtitle, Disc Menu. Area Codes Choose an area code from this list.
