Unp a c k ing t h e pr inte r 1 Remove everything from the shipping box, but leave the ink cartridges in their packages. 2 Remove the tape and packing material from the outside of the printer.
3 Open the printer’s cover and remove the packing material from the inside of the printer. Sa ve t h e ca r t on and the packing materi al i n ca se you e v er n eed to ship th e pri nter . 4C lose the printer’s cover. 5P lace the printer in your work area.

3G rasp each ink cartridge by its sides and carefully remove the tape from the cartridge’s print head. Y ou ma y saf el y touc h the co lorfu l c aps or the bl ac k p l a sti c , but b e care fu l not to t ouch any ot her par t. 4S lide the ink cartridges down into the carrier, and then press both cartridges into place.

8I n the Installer dialog box, click Install. After a f e w moments , the Installer b egins t o install the pri nter so ftw are . A status bo x keeps y ou i nf ormed of pr o gre ss duri ng installat i on . 9W hen you see a message reporting that installation was successful, click Restart.

4C hoose Print from the File menu and make adjustments in the dialog box that opens. Item in dialog box What you use it for Quality Select which level of quality you want. Generally, the higher the quality, the longer the document will take to print. The Draft option is available only when you use Plain paper or Transparency.

3 Open the top cover. The c arri e r m o v e s t o t he center of t he printer . T h e res ume li ght fl ashe s . 4 Remove the black ink cartridge. 5P ut the black ink cartridge in the storage case. To pop the cartridge loose, pull its top toward you.
6S lide the color PhotoGrade ink cartridge down into the carrier, and press it into place. Pre s s the c ar trid g e all the w a y into t he carrier . 7C lose the printer’s cover. The c arri e r retur ns to its home pos iti on on the ri ght si de o f the printer , a nd th e r esume li ght st ops fl a shing .
8C hoose Page Setup from the File menu. 9C hoose Print from the File menu. 10 In the dialog box that appears, click Print from the File menu. Th e document containing the phot o graphs begins t o print. It ma y tak e se v eral minutes bef ore y ou c an see the re s u lts .
Printin g a b a n n e r F or the best re s ults , u se A pp le C olor Ink–Jet B ann er P aper . If y ou u se c ont inuous c omputer paper or Z-f ol d paper i nstead, 20-pound pap er is best. 1C hoose Page Setup from the File menu. 2I n the Page Setup dialog box, choose either Banner US Letter or Banner A4 from the Paper Size pop-up menu.
3S lide the paper selection lever to the right until it clicks into place. An ic on on t he le v er i ndic ate s t hat thi s is the settin g f or bann er pap er . 4 Remove all paper from the lower tray. 5 Flip up the banner support in the upper tray. 6E stimate how many sheets your banner needs to print.
Usi n g t h e appli c at i on that created t he banner , y ou shoul d be able t o te ll wh ether the bann er will co ver t hree sheets or f our sheets , f or ex ample . T h e printer pri nts a max imum o f 20 sheets i n on e bann er . 7F rom a stack of Z-fold banner paper, tear off at least one sheet more than you need to print the banner.
11 Make sure the banner document is the active window on the screen, and choose Print from the File menu. 12 In the dialog box that appears, click Print. 13 When printing stops, press the Resume button as many times as necessary to advance the remaining banner paper out of the printer.

3S lide an envelope into the single-envelope slot until it stops. 4C hoose Print from the File menu. 4P ut a stack of up to 20 envelopes in the printer. If the en v elope s are thi c k , reduce the numb er i n the stack . 5S lide the paper adjusters in so they touch the edges of the stack of envelopes. Load the envelopes print side down, with the flap against the side of the printer.

5I nsert the transparencies into the paper tray, shiny side down, with the joined edge into the paper tray first. 6S lide the paper adjusters in so they touch the edges of the stack. 7C hoose Print from the File menu. 8I n the dialog box that appears, click Print.

5F an the edges of the label sheets to make sure they are separated. 6I nsert into the paper tray sheets of labels, face-down, on top of about 5 sheets of plain paper that’s the same size. Y ou can inser t up to 25 sheets of l ab el s . 7S lide the paper adjusters in so they touch the edges of the stack.

4P lace a stack of up to 30 cards in the lower paper tray, resting against the raised card guide. 5 Lower the handle on the paper length adjuster. 6S lide the paper adjusters in so they touch the edges of the stack. To release the handle so you can lower it, squeeze the lower inside surface.
7 Replace the upper tray and raise the card guide. Y ou ma y need to lif t the pri nter co ver f or eas y acces s . 8C hoose Print from the File menu. Wh e n y ou’ r e done prin ti ng i n de x ca rds o r po s t car ds Ta k e t h e t i m e t o re set the printer f or normal pri nting .
