Every device on the wireless netw o rk must use the same WPA passph r ase. WPA security is an option only o n infras tructur e net works w ith wir eless ac ce ss poi nts and net work c ard s that suppo rt WPA. Mos t newe r wirele ss ne two rk equipment also off ers WPA2 security as an op tion.

How can I im prove wireles s signal strengt h? A common reaso n wireless p rinters fail to co mmunicate o ver a netwo rk is poor wireless s ignal qu ality. If the signal is too w eak, too distort ed, or blocked by an objec t, it cannot c arry i nformation betwe en the access point and the print er.
Ho w c a n I m ak e s ure my co mp ute r a nd pr int er a re con n ect ed t o t he sam e w ir el es s network ? If the pr inter is not o n the same wir eless netw o rk as the computer, th en you will not b e able to print wireles s ly.

Router s with secur ity capabilit ies may all ow filt ering of M AC addresses on netw orks. This allo ws a mana ged list of devices to access the networ k, id entified by their MAC address es . MAC address filtering can help prevent access on the net work f rom unwa nted de vices, such as from int ruders on a w irel ess net work.
