4 Chapter I: Pr oduct Information 1-1 Introduction and safety information Thank you for purchasing this hi gh-speed 802.1 1b/g/Draft-N wireless network card! Excepting common wireless standards 802.1 1b/g, this wireless network card is also 802.1 1 Draft-N compatible - data transfer rate is 300Mbps, and that’ s six times faster than 802.

9 CHAPTER II: DRIVER INST ALLA TION AND CONFIGURA TION 2-1 Network Card Installation Please follow the following instructions to install your new wireless network card: 1. SWITCH THE COMPUTER OFF , remove the cov er and insert the wireless network card into an empt y PCI slot of your computer .
10 2. Fasten the antennas to the antenna connectors on the network card by clockwise direction. 3. Y ou can bend the antenna to fit actual needs:.

13 5. Switch the computer on, the foll owing message will appear on your computer , please click ‘cancel’ . 6. Insert device driver CDROM into the CD/DVD ROM drive of your computer , and execute ‘Setup.
14 7. Y ou can choose the configuration tool used to configure the wireless network card here. It’ s recommended to select ‘Ralink Configuration T ool’, which provides fully access to all function of this wireless network card.
15 When you select one mode, plea se click ‘Next’ to continue. If you see ‘Found New Hardwar e’ message again, please ignore it and w ait. 9. Please wait while the install proce dure is running. When you see this message, please click ‘Finish’ to co mplete the driver installation process.
16 10. A new icon will appear at lower-right corner of your com puter desktop, you can put the mouse cursor on the icon, and the status of wireless card will be displayed as a popup balloon. When you want to configure your wireless connection, please right click on this icon, and a popup me nu will appear .

18 2-2 Connect to W ireless Access Point After the driver is correctly insta lled, it will try to connect to any unencrypted wireless access point au tomatically .
19 If you still can not see the access point you wish to use after clicking ‘Rescan’ for more than five times, please move your computer closer to the location where the wireless acce ss po int is, or see instructions in chapter 4-2 ‘T roubleshooting’.

24 2-2-2 Using W indows Zero Configuration W indows XP and V i sta has a built-in wireless network configuration utility , called as ‘W indows Zero Confi guration’ (WZC).
25 3. Click ‘Connect to a network’ under ‘Network Connections’ 4. Right-click ‘W ireless Network Connec tion’ (it may have a number as suff ix if you have more than one wireless network car d, please make sure you right-click the ‘Ralink 802.
